Brand:

AUMA LE 200.1 Linear Thrust Unit (217 kN)

Description

Overview

At the top of the line stands the AUMA LE 200.1: 87 to 217 kN of thrust from an SA 16.2, the highest force in AUMA’s linear thrust series. Strokes of 100, 200, 400 or 500 mm and masses between 45 and 68 kg define the package. Its natural customers operate heavy globe valves, large sliding-stem valves and slide gates, where forces are several times what the LE 50.1 can provide.

Seven Star LLC is the regional supplier and trusted AUMA supplier, and it offers the AUMA LE 200.1 with SA 16.2 or SAR 16.2 actuators to generation, water and industrial clients in the Sultanate of Oman and the GCC. Thrust, travel and thread are verified against the valve drawing first, then AUMA documents, warranty and commissioning support follow with the order.

Operating Principle of the AUMA LE 200.1

Inside the AUMA LE 200.1 the SA 16.2 turns a drive nut that moves a threaded spindle, and a coupling stud carries the motion to the valve stem. The thread holds the load at standstill. AUMA’s torque-to-thrust factor for this size is 4.6, the largest in the series, so 200 Nm at the actuator corresponds to about 43 kN. A clockwise-rotation-extends arrangement is standard and the opposite arrangement is a choice.

The open-close thrust corridor is 87 to 217 kN with short peaks to 300 kN. The regulating SAR 16.2 offers 110 to 217 kN, with 87 kN rated for modulating torque. Speed at the stem is 32 mm per minute at 4 rpm, 256 mm per minute at 32 rpm and 360 mm per minute at the 45 rpm ceiling.

Engineering Design of the AUMA LE 200.1

Mounting to the actuator is by F16 flange; toward the valve a DIN 3358 flange and a 48 x 8 left-hand stem thread are used. Mass is 45 kg at 100 mm travel, 50 kg at 200 mm, 62 kg at 400 mm and 68 kg at 500 mm, excluding actuator and base.

The casing is rated IP67 and coated for KS corrosion class with a two-component iron-mica finish. Ambient limits are -25 and +80 degrees Celsius, with higher and lower options on request. Operation is short-time duty S2 for 15 minutes, with full load kept to the opening and closing moments.

Travel, Mass and Thrust Table for the AUMA LE 200.1

AUMA’s data sheet gives the AUMA LE 200.1 the following combinations of travel and mass.

Maximum stroke Approximate weight Min. thrust (SA) Max. thrust (SA)
100 mm 45 kg 87 kN 217 kN
200 mm 50 kg 87 kN 217 kN
400 mm 62 kg 87 kN 217 kN
500 mm 68 kg 87 kN 217 kN

Every travel option offers the same 87 to 217 kN thrust band; only mass and stem travel change.

Industrial Applications

Heavy globe valves in steam systems, large sliding-stem valves on process lines and slide gates in bulk-material and water works can demand up to 217 kN, and the AUMA LE 200.1 supplies it. Plants near Sohar and Duqm that already use AUMA controls favour it, and the 500 mm travel option fits valves with a long stem stroke.

As trusted AUMA supplier, Seven Star LLC delivers the LE 200.1 and SA 16.2 or SAR 16.2 actuators to EPC contractors and utilities in Oman, Salalah and across the GCC. Technical Specifications

The AUMA LE 200.1 is the largest of the six LE types in AUMA’s sheet, and its values follow.

Parameter Specification
Model AUMA LE 200.1
Construction Spindle-type linear thrust unit
Drive SA 16.2 on-off; SAR 16.2 regulating
Travel options 100, 200, 400, 500 mm
Thrust 87 to 217 kN (SAR: 110 to 217 kN)
Peak thrust tolerated 300 kN
Actuator interface F16, DIN 3358 valve flange
Stem thread 48 x 8 LH
Torque-to-thrust factor 4.6
Stem velocity 32 to 360 mm/min
Mass 45 to 68 kg
Duty rating S2 – 15 min
Protection and climate IP67; -25 to +80 °C

With a factor of 4.6, thrust of 87 to 217 kN corresponds to roughly 400 to 998 Nm of actuator torque, which is why the SA 16.2 is the paired drive.

Stroke Time and Thrust Margins for the AUMA LE 200.1

The LE 200.1 turns the SA 16.2 speed range into stem speeds of 32 mm/min at 4 rpm, 44 at 5.6 rpm, 64 at 8 rpm, 88 at 11 rpm, 128 at 16 rpm, 176 at 22 rpm, 256 at 32 rpm and 360 mm/min at the 45 rpm limit. A 200 mm travel needs about six minutes at the slowest speed and about 47 seconds at 256 mm/min, and the longest 500 mm travel takes about 83 seconds at 360 mm/min. With a minimum thrust of 87 kN the unit is intended for valves that really need it, and AUMA’s plus or minus 20 percent tolerance on the thrust settings means that valves operating near the 217 kN maximum should be sized with a clear margin below the 300 kN exceptional limit.

Information Seven Star LLC Needs to Quote the AUMA LE 200.1

To select the correct LE 200.1 configuration we ask for the maximum seating and unseating force of the valve, the stem travel of 100, 200, 400 or 500 mm, the stem thread and the required closing time. With the torque-to-thrust factor of 4.6 we convert the thrust into the torque the SA 16.2 must deliver, and we then check whether an on-off SA 16.2 or a regulating SAR 16.2 matches the duty cycle. We also confirm the ambient temperature against the standard range of -25 to +80 degrees Celsius, the coupling stud and DIN 3358 flange against the valve yoke, and the mass of 45 to 68 kg against the support structure. This short checklist avoids resizing after delivery and gives the LE 200.1 a documented basis for commissioning in Oman and the GCC.

About brand
Electric actuators for industrial valves are the core of AUMA's business. Founded in 1964 and based in Müllheim, Germany, the company builds multi-turn, part-turn and linear actuators with matching gearboxes and actuator controls, in modular combinations that are fixed at the time of order. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier listing AUMA actuators, gearboxes, fail-safe units and the SIMA2 master station for valve automation projects and replacements in Oman and the GCC.

AUMA actuator and gearbox types

SA multi-turn actuators handle open-close duty on gate and globe valves, and SAR is the modulating version; the listing includes the SA 07.2, SA 10.2 and SA 25.1. SAEx and SAREx are the explosion-proof equivalents. Part-turn duty on ball and butterfly valves is covered by SQ and the modulating SQR, or by an SA actuator combined with a GS part-turn gearbox. LE linear thrust units convert multi-turn output to thrust, and GHT multi-turn gearboxes extend the torque range up to 120,000 Nm. PROFOX is the compact actuator line. Special items include the seawater-resistant SGM and SGMR part-turn actuators with bronze housings, the SVC and SVCR globe valve actuators and the FQM fail-safe unit. Integral controls come as AM or AC versions.

Where AUMA electric actuators are used

AUMA actuators are found in water, power, oil and gas, marine and general industry. In practice that means isolation and control valves in water treatment and pumping stations, power plant steam and cooling systems, tank farms and pipelines, and sluice gates and dampers.
