Orbitalum GFX 3.0 Pipe Cutting and Beveling Machine Supplied by Seven Star LLC

Pipe Cutting & Bevelling Machines

Pipe cutting and bevelling machines prepare tube and pipe ends for welding by cold cutting, facing and beveling them square to the axis. Seven Star LLC lists three Orbitalum machines for customers in Oman: an orbital pipe cutting and beveling machine, a portable pipe saw available in electric or battery form, and a tube squaring and facing machine. More sizes and models from the same maker can be sourced on request.

Cold cutting, squaring and weld preparation

An orbital pipe saw clamps the tube and guides the blade around it, so the cut is at a right angle and the tube is not deformed. Because the cut is mechanical, there is no heat-affected zone and no spatter inside the bore, which matters on thin-wall stainless steel and high-purity lines. A squaring machine then faces the end flat. This is the preparation needed for orbital fusion welding, where the two ends must butt together without a gap. On thicker walls, the cutting machine can also form the weld bevel in the same setup.

Data to send for a pipe cutting machine inquiry

Give the outside diameter range, wall thickness and material, the end preparation required (square cut, V or J bevel, facing only), and the drive you prefer: mains electric or battery. Tell us roughly how many cuts you make per shift and whether the work is in a workshop or on site in the GCC. Include saw blades and tool bits for your materials in the request.

What to include in your inquiry

These details let us quote the right item the first time.

  • Welding process (MIG/MAG, TIG, MMA, SAW, plasma)
  • Current range and duty cycle
  • Supply voltage and phases
  • Material and thickness to be welded
  • Accessories needed (torch, wire feeder, cooler)

Missing some of them? Send what you have. A nameplate photo or an old part number is enough to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why use cold cutting instead of an abrasive disc or plasma for tube preparation?
A grinder or plasma cut heats the end, leaves burrs and oxide, and is rarely square. On stainless steel the heat tint and embedded abrasive also become corrosion sites. A cold orbital cut gives a clean, square, low-burr end with no metallurgical change, so the tube can go to facing and welding with very little extra work.
What is the difference between a pipe saw and a tube squaring machine?
The saw parts the tube to length and, on some machines, bevels it. The squaring or facing machine removes a thin layer from the cut end with a rotating tool bit, so the face is flat, perpendicular and free of burrs. Thin-wall tube for orbital fusion welding normally goes through both steps, cutting first and then facing.
Can these machines cut duplex stainless and nickel alloys?
They can, provided the saw blade or tool bit, cutting speed and lubricant are chosen for the material. Hard and work-hardening alloys need lower speeds and blades made for them. Tell us the grades and wall thicknesses, and we will check the blade and tooling recommendations in the manufacturer documentation and include the right consumables in the quotation.
Which bevel form should I ask for?
It comes from the welding procedure. Square ends are used for thin-wall fusion welds. A V bevel with a small land is the usual manual welding preparation on thicker pipe. J or compound bevels reduce weld volume on heavy walls and are common for mechanized and orbital welding with wire. Send the joint detail drawing so the tooling matches it.
What do you need to quote a pipe cutting and beveling machine?
Outside diameter range, wall thickness, materials, the type of end preparation and the power supply available. Add how many cuts you make per day, and whether the machine stays on a bench or moves around site. List the blades, tool bits and clamping accessories you want with it. A current machine model, if you have one, helps us check tooling compatibility.
