About Filtration
The Filtration section covers filter elements, housings and complete filtration units for process liquids, gases, water treatment and hydraulic oil. Seven Star LLC supplies them in Oman from MP Filtri, Pall, Scinor, 3M, Swagelok, Donaldson, Parker, Hydac and Bosch Rexroth.

Filtration sub-categories: elements, housings and systems
Filtration Elements holds the replaceable parts: Pall Ultipleat High Flow cartridges for large liquid flows, Pall Profile coreless elements for gas filtration, Pall Medallion liquid/liquid coalescer elements, a Parker coalescing element, a Bosch Rexroth hydraulic filter element and Scinor ultrafiltration membrane modules in pressurized and submerged form. Filter Housings holds complete filters and housings: MP Filtri hydraulic return, suction, spin-on and in-line filters, Swagelok in-line filters and a Donaldson compressed air filter housing. Housings for cartridge, bag and coalescer elements are quoted on request. Filtration Systems contains assembled equipment: Pall Ultipleat High Flow system housings, the Hydac RFM tank-top return line filter for hydraulic reservoirs, the 3M Liqui-Cel membrane contactor for removing dissolved gases from liquids, and a mobile water filtration unit.
How industrial filters are specified
A particle filter is defined by its removal rating and the efficiency at that rating. Absolute-rated and beta-rated elements state a tested efficiency; nominal ratings are looser and differ between manufacturers. The element must also suit the fluid chemically, carry the design flow at an acceptable clean pressure drop, and survive the maximum differential pressure. Coalescers separate one fluid phase from another, such as liquid aerosol from gas or water from fuel, and are sized on flow and the properties of both phases. Membranes are selected on feed water quality and required output.
Typical uses in oil, gas, water and power plants
Common duties include amine and glycol filtration, fuel gas conditioning, produced water and injection water, pretreatment ahead of reverse osmosis in desalination plants across the GCC, boiler feed water degassing, and the protection of hydraulic and lube oil systems.

What is the difference between an absolute and a nominal filter rating?
A nominal rating means the filter removes some stated share of particles at that size, measured by a method the manufacturer chooses, so two nominal 10 micron filters can perform very differently. An absolute or beta rating is tied to a defined test and a high removal efficiency at the stated size. When replacing elements, compare the rating method as well as the micron figure.
Do you supply bag filters and bag filter housings?
The current listing concentrates on cartridge, coalescer, hydraulic and membrane products, and no bag filter models are shown yet. Bag filters and their housings are a standard product type and can be requested. Send the fluid, flow rate, micron rating, bag size and material, housing material and connection size, and we will tell you plainly what we can source.
What is the difference between a coalescer and a particle filter?
A particle filter traps solids in or on its media. A coalescer deals with a second fluid phase: fine droplets are captured on fibers, merge into larger drops and drain away by gravity. Gas coalescers remove oil and water aerosol from gas; liquid/liquid coalescers separate water from hydrocarbons or the reverse. Coalescers need a particle prefilter upstream, since solids block the media.
When should a filter element be changed?
Change on differential pressure, not on the calendar alone. As the element loads with dirt, pressure drop rises; the manufacturer states a changeout value and a higher collapse limit that must never be reached. A differential pressure gauge or switch across the housing shows the condition. Elements in critical duties are also replaced at a maximum interval even when the pressure drop is still low.
What is a membrane contactor?
A membrane contactor contains thousands of hollow fibers with microscopic pores that pass gas but not liquid water. Liquid flows on one side while vacuum or a sweep gas is applied on the other, so dissolved gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide leave the liquid without the two phases mixing. It is used to degas boiler feed, process and ultrapure water.
