Head, eye and face protection guards against falling objects, impacts, chemical splashes, dust and radiation on industrial sites. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, supplies helmets, safety spectacles, goggles and face shields from Uvex and Petzl to industrial, oil and gas and construction customers in Oman and the GCC.
Types of protection in this category
Petzl VERTEX and STRATO helmets have chin straps that keep the helmet on during a fall, which makes them the usual choice for work at height and rope access; vented versions suit hot climates and non-vented versions give electrical insulation. Uvex safety spectacles combine impact protection with anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings, in clear, tinted and outdoor lenses for bright sunlight. Uvex goggles seal around the eyes against dust, liquid droplets and splashes, and face shields protect the whole face during grinding, chemical handling and similar tasks, usually worn over spectacles.
How to select head, eye and face protection
Identify the hazards first: falling objects, impact, molten metal, chemicals, dust, UV or glare, or electrical risk. For helmets, choose between industrial helmets and climbing-type helmets with retention systems, and check compliance with EN 397, EN 12492 or ANSI Z89.1. For eyewear, check the EN 166 or ANSI Z87.1 marking for impact grade, the lens tint and coatings, and compatibility with prescription glasses and respirators. Comfort and fit matter: protection that is uncomfortable in heat is often removed.

Frequently Asked Questions
It has a retention system with a strong chin strap so it stays on the head during a fall or when the user looks up. Standard industrial helmets can come off in a fall.
Spectacles protect against flying particles from the front and sides. Goggles seal around the eyes and also protect against dust, liquid droplets and splashes.
For most tasks a face shield should be worn over safety spectacles or goggles, since the shield alone may not stop particles coming from below or the sides.
Grey or smoke lenses with UV protection reduce glare in bright sun. Clear lenses suit indoor work, and amber lenses improve contrast in low light.
