Types of plug valve in this category
Small-bore instrument plug valves such as the Swagelok P4T series and SS-4P4T variants with tube fitting, male NPT or female NPT ends are used on instrument, sample and utility lines. FITOK 2-way plug valves serve similar duties with FITOK tube ends. For process lines, the Flowserve Durco G4 Sleeveline is a sleeved non-lubricated plug valve for corrosive and chemical service.
How to select a plug valve
Select size, end connection and pressure rating first, then the body material and the plug seal or sleeve material for the fluid and temperature. Instrument plug valves are for on/off service at moderate pressures; sleeved plug valves suit corrosive chemicals where tight shut-off and cleanability matter.
