Welding equipment in this section covers the arc welding power sources, plasma cutters, orbital systems and pipe preparation machines used by fabrication shops, pipeline crews and plant maintenance teams. Seven Star LLC, an independent industrial supplier in Muscat, Oman, lists welding machines from Miller, Kemppi, Hypertherm, Orbitalum and Polysoude here, along with single models from several other manufacturers.

The group is split into ten sub-categories, so a buyer can go straight to the process named in the welding procedure or the work scope.

Arc welding machines by process

MIG/MAG welding machines feed a continuous wire and are the usual choice for structural steel and shop production. TIG welding machines give the pool control needed for root passes, thin-wall stainless and aluminum, with AC/DC models for the last of these. Stick (MMA) welding machines need no shielding gas, which keeps them in use for site repair and erection. Multi-process welding machines put constant-current and constant-voltage output in one power source for crews that change process from job to job. Engine-driven welders carry their own diesel or gasoline engine for pipeline right-of-way and remote well sites with no mains supply.

Cutting, pipe preparation and mechanized welding

Plasma cutting systems run from portable air plasma units to mechanized systems for CNC tables. Pipe cutting and beveling machines produce square, clean ends, the starting point for orbital pipe welding systems, which rotate a TIG arc around tube, pipe or tube-to-tubesheet joints under a stored program. Induction heating and preheating equipment controls preheat and interpass temperature on thick-wall and chrome-moly joints. Welding robots and automation covers six-axis arc welding robots for repeat production.

What to send for a welding machine quotation

Give us the process, the base material and thickness range, the welding current you need and roughly how many minutes in ten the arc is on, and the site supply (voltage, phase, frequency or generator rating). Say if you need a wire feeder, water cooling, a remote control or a particular cable length. For projects elsewhere in the GCC, mention the destination and any client specification the machine must meet. We check the part number and package contents against the manufacturer documentation before quoting.

What to include in your inquiry

These details let us quote the right item the first time.

  • Welding process (MIG/MAG, TIG, MMA, SAW, plasma)
  • Current range and duty cycle
  • Supply voltage and phases
  • Material and thickness to be welded
  • Accessories needed (torch, wire feeder, cooler)

Missing some of them? Send what you have. A nameplate photo or an old part number is enough to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I decide between a dedicated MIG, TIG or stick machine and a multi-process power source?
Look at how often the crew changes process. A shop that runs one wire and one gas all day gets more from a dedicated MIG/MAG machine with a matched feeder. Maintenance and shutdown crews that weld stick in the morning and TIG a root in the afternoon are better served by a multi-process source with both constant-current and constant-voltage output.
What does the duty cycle on a welding machine datasheet tell me?
Duty cycle is the percentage of a ten-minute period the machine can weld at a stated current without overheating. A rating of 60 percent at a given current means six minutes of arc time and four of cooling. Compare machines at the current you will really use, and check the ambient temperature the rating refers to, because a Gulf summer is harder on a machine than a temperate workshop.
Can an inverter welding machine be run from a site generator?
Most modern inverters can, but the generator has to be sized for the machine's input power with margin, and its voltage and frequency must stay stable under load. Check the input kVA and any generator note in the manufacturer manual. Where there is no dependable supply at all, an engine-driven welder is the simpler answer because it produces its own welding and auxiliary power.
My existing welding machine model is discontinued. Can you quote a replacement?
Yes. Send the model, the data from the rating plate and the accessories you use with it, such as feeder, torch and cooler. We check the manufacturer documentation for the successor model, tell you which connectors or accessories have changed according to that documentation, and quote the successor either as a complete package or as a power source only.
Which documents can be supplied with a welding power source?
On request we provide the manufacturer's datasheet and operating manual, plus the declaration of conformity and any other certificates the manufacturer issues for that machine. Arc welding power sources are normally designed to IEC 60974-1, and the rating plate refers to it. If your client asks for a specific document or format, state it in the inquiry so we can confirm it is available before quoting.
What information do you need to quote welding equipment?
The welding process, base material and thickness, required current and duty cycle, site supply voltage, phase and frequency, and whether the unit must be portable. Add the accessories you want in the package: feeder, torch or gun with cooling type and length, work and interconnection cables, remote control, trolley. A model number, if you already have one, shortens the check considerably.
