About Level Switches
Level switches detect high, low or intermediate points in tanks, silos and pipes to start pumps, prevent overfill and protect against dry running. Types of level switch in this category
Vibrating fork switches such as the Endress+Hauser Liquiphant FTL51, Rosemount 2140 and 2160 wireless, KOBOLD NWS and Mobrey DMS detect liquids and solids. Capacitive switches like the VEGA VEGACAP 62, 64, 27 and 98 and VEGAPOINT 31 handle powders and conductive liquids. How to select a level switch
Define the medium (liquid or solid), density, viscosity, temperature and pressure, and the switching function (high, low, overfill, dry run). Specify connection, insertion length, output and hazardous area or SIL requirements.
