Ball bearing types listed
Deep groove bearings suit electric motors, pumps and fans. Angular contact bearings, single, double-row and matched pairs, take combined loads in spindles and gearboxes. Four-point contact, self-aligning and thrust ball bearings cover special load directions. Sealed, hybrid ceramic, insulated and stainless versions are also listed.
Selecting a ball bearing
Check bore, outside diameter and width first, then dynamic and static load ratings, limiting speed, seal or shield type, internal clearance such as C3, and operating temperature. For motors on frequency converters consider an insulated or hybrid bearing.

What is the difference between open, shielded and sealed ball bearings?
Open bearings have no cover and need external lubrication. Shielded types (Z, ZZ) have metal shields that keep out large particles. Sealed types (RS, 2RS, DDU) use rubber seals for better protection but a lower speed limit.
What does the C3 suffix mean?
C3 is an internal clearance greater than normal. It is chosen when the inner ring runs warmer than the outer ring or when interference fits reduce clearance, as in many electric motors.
When should I choose an angular contact bearing?
When a combined radial and axial load acts in one direction. Single-row bearings are mounted in opposed pairs, or matched sets are used with a defined preload or clearance.
Can deep groove bearings carry axial load?
Yes, a moderate axial load in either direction, usually limited to a fraction of the radial rating. High axial loads call for angular contact or thrust bearings.
Why can motor bearings be damaged by a frequency converter?
Common-mode voltage can drive current through the bearing, causing fluting on the raceways. Insulated bearings, hybrid ceramic bearings or shaft grounding rings are the usual remedies.
