Welding equipment

This group holds the machines. MIG/MAG, TIG, stick (MMA) and multi-process welding machines cover the manual arc processes, and engine-driven welders supply welding and auxiliary power where there is no mains. Plasma cutting systems and pipe cutting and beveling machines handle cutting and joint preparation. Orbital pipe welding systems mechanize TIG welding of tube, pipe and tube-to-tubesheet joints. Induction heating equipment and an arc welding robot complete the group.

Welding consumables

Filler metals are listed by AWS classification: stick electrodes including cellulosic pipeline grades, solid MIG wire, flux-cored wire, TIG rods and submerged arc wire. The grades reflect oil, gas and power work, from E7018 and ER70S-6 to chrome-moly, duplex, super duplex and alloy 625 fillers.

Welding accessories and safety

Here you find auto-darkening welding helmets, MIG guns and torches, electrode drying ovens and electrochemical weld cleaning machines for stainless steel.

How to request a welding quotation

For a machine, send the process, material and thickness, required current and duty cycle, and the site supply. For a consumable, send the classification, diameter, packaging, quantity and certificate type. We check the part number and configuration against the manufacturer documentation, propose the manufacturer’s successor when a model is obsolete, and provide the manufacturer’s datasheet and the certificates the manufacturer issues, on request. Buyers in other GCC countries should state the destination.

What to include in your inquiry

These details let us quote the right item the first time.

  • Manufacturer and model or part number
  • Quantity
  • Datasheet or nameplate photo
  • Delivery location
  • Required delivery date

Missing some of them? Send what you have. A nameplate photo or an old part number is enough to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which welding process suits pipe work on oil and gas sites?
It depends on the pipe and the specification. Cross-country line pipe is commonly welded with cellulosic stick electrodes vertical-down, or with mechanized processes. Process piping usually gets a TIG root for full penetration and a clean bore, followed by low-hydrogen stick or flux-cored fill passes. Thin-wall stainless and instrument tubing is often orbital TIG welded. The welding procedure fixes the choice.
Do the machine and the consumable have to be from the same brand?
No. A power source will run any wire or electrode of the right type, diameter and classification. The points to check are technical: constant current or constant voltage output, enough current and duty cycle, drive rolls and liners for the wire, and an arc characteristic suited to cellulosic electrodes if those are used. Synergic programs may be tuned to specific wire types.
What certificates are normally requested for welding consumables and machines?
For consumables, projects usually ask for an inspection certificate to EN 10204, type 3.1 with batch results or type 2.2 with typical values, plus the datasheet. For machines, the usual documents are the manufacturer's datasheet, manual and declaration of conformity. State the requirement in the inquiry, and we will confirm which documents the manufacturer issues for that product.
Can you propose an equivalent when my usual brand or model is not listed?
Yes. For consumables, send the trade name and classification in your procedure, and we will propose a product of the same classification with its datasheet for your welding engineer to compare. For machines, send the model and accessories in use, and we will check the manufacturer documentation for the current successor or a comparable model from the listed brands.
How do I size a welding machine for my work?
Work from the thickest material and the largest wire or electrode you will use to the current needed, then look for that current at a duty cycle matching how continuously you weld. Check that the site supply or generator can feed the machine. Add margin for hot ambient conditions, since duty cycle ratings refer to a stated ambient temperature.
What should a welding inquiry contain so it can be quoted without follow-up questions?
Item by item: for equipment, the process, material and thickness, current and duty cycle, supply voltage and phase, and the accessories wanted in the package. For filler metals, the classification, diameter, packaging, quantity and certificate type. For accessories, the model of the machine or torch they must fit. Add the destination country and any approved manufacturer list from your client.
