About Industrial Fans & Blowers

11 products 4 brands

Industrial fans and blowers move air for ventilation, cooling, fume extraction, combustion and pneumatic conveying. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, supplies fans and blowers from Greenheck, Soler & Palau and Elektror to contractors, facilities and industrial plants in Oman and the GCC.

Types of fan in this category

Centrifugal fans from Greenheck and Soler & Palau handle ducted systems with higher pressure, such as exhaust, supply air and process ventilation. Axial and tube-axial fans move large volumes at lower pressure for warehouses, car parks and smoke ventilation, and inline duct fans fit in ductwork with little space. Roof exhaust and supply fans serve industrial buildings, and explosion-proof (ATEX) fans serve hazardous areas. Elektror high-pressure blowers and side-channel blowers supply air for drying, conveying, combustion and suction systems at pressures beyond standard fans.

How to select a fan

Start with the airflow and the system pressure at the duty point, and select a fan whose curve meets it efficiently. Check the air temperature, dust or corrosive content, and whether the area is classified as hazardous. Choose the drive arrangement (direct or belt), motor efficiency and speed control, and noise limits. In the GCC, high ambient temperatures affect motor rating and air density, and smoke extraction fans must be certified for the required temperature and time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a fan and a blower?
Fans move large volumes of air at relatively low pressure. Blowers produce higher pressure for conveying, drying or combustion air, at lower volume.
Centrifugal or axial fan?
Centrifugal fans suit ducted systems with higher resistance. Axial fans move more air at lower pressure, for example general ventilation and car parks.
Why is the duty point important?
A fan delivers its rated airflow only at a specific system pressure. If the actual resistance is higher, the airflow drops; selecting from the fan curve avoids under-performance.
What is a smoke extraction fan?
A fan certified to keep running at high temperature, for example 300 °C for one or two hours, so it can remove smoke during a fire.
What should I send for a quotation?
The model, or airflow, pressure, air temperature, medium, hazardous area rating, power supply and quantity.
