About Industrial Cables

Industrial cables carry power, control signals and data between panels, drives, motors and field instruments, and the right construction keeps them working under heat, oil, movement and fire conditions. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, supplies industrial cables from Helukabel and Lapp Group to panel builders, contractors and plants in Oman and the GCC.
Types of cable in this category
Flexible control cables such as the Helukabel JZ-500 and Lapp OLFLEX Classic 110 connect machines and panels, with screened versions like the JZ-600-Y-CY for noisy environments and halogen-free versions for public buildings. Data cables, for example the Helukabel PAAR-TRONIC-CY, carry instrument and communication signals, and blue-sheathed cables such as the OZ-BL-CY mark intrinsically safe circuits in hazardous areas. VFD motor cables like the TOPFLEX-EMV series have a symmetrical design and full screen to reduce interference from drives; servo cables from Helukabel and Lapp suit drag chains. The range also covers H07RN-F heavy-duty rubber cable, NYY-J and N2XH-J power cables, and fire-resistant cables with circuit integrity for fire alarm and emergency systems.
How to select an industrial cable
Define the number of cores and cross-section, the voltage rating, and whether a screen is needed. Then check the installation: fixed or flexible, drag chain movement and bending radius, outdoor UV exposure, oil or chemical contact, and temperature. Buildings and tunnels may require halogen-free or fire-resistant cable, and hazardous areas need cables suitable for the protection concept. Check conductor colour or number coding against the panel standard.
Data needed for a quotation
Send the cable type and size, for example JZ-500 7G1.5, the length per drum or cut, and the quantity. We check the item against the manufacturer data.
What to include in your inquiry
These details let us quote the right item the first time.
- Manufacturer part number or catalogue reference
- Rated current and voltage
- Breaking capacity and number of poles
- Trip unit and accessories
- Quantity
Missing some of them? Send what you have. A nameplate photo or an old part number is enough to start.

Frequently Asked Questions
Drive outputs contain fast voltage pulses that radiate interference and stress insulation. A symmetrical, fully screened VFD cable keeps interference inside the cable and returns it to the drive, which the drive manufacturer usually requires for EMC compliance.
Standard control cables are designed for fixed or occasionally flexed installation. Drag chain cables use fine stranding, special core layout and a robust jacket so they survive millions of bending cycles in moving machine parts.
Where smoke and corrosive gases from a fire would endanger people or equipment, such as public buildings, tunnels, control rooms and many offshore and industrial projects. Project specifications often state it.
Seven cores of 1.5 mm² each, including a green-yellow earth core (G). An X instead of G means no earth core.
