Metering pumps add chemicals at an accurate, adjustable rate for water treatment, cooling towers, boilers, swimming pools and process lines. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, supplies metering and dosing pumps from Blue-White, SEKO, Walchem, ProMinent, Grundfos and KRACHT to customers in Oman and the GCC.
Types of metering pump in this category
Solenoid diaphragm pumps such as the ProMinent gamma/ XL, SEKO Tekna TPG and Walchem EWN-Y and EHE dose small volumes against pressure. Digital diaphragm pumps like the Grundfos DME and Walchem IX give wide turndown and flow control. Peristaltic pumps such as the Blue-White FLEXFLO A1, A5 and M3 and SEKO Kronos handle off-gassing chemicals like sodium hypochlorite. Mechanical and multi-diaphragm pumps (Blue-White CHEM-FEED C2, C3, CD3 and C-600P, SEKO Spring MS1) cover larger flows, and KRACHT gear metering pumps dose viscous liquids.
How to select a metering pump
Specify the maximum flow in l/h, the back pressure, the chemical and its concentration, and the control signal (manual, pulse, 4-20 mA or network). Choose head and seal materials for chemical compatibility, and allow headroom so the pump runs between about 10% and 90% of capacity. Add accessories such as injection valves, foot valves, pressure relief and pulsation dampers as needed.
