What is the difference between a locking assembly and a shrink disc?
A locking assembly sits inside the hub bore, while a shrink disc is clamped around the outside of a hollow shaft or hub to compress it onto the shaft.
How do I size a coupling?
Multiply the nominal torque by the service factor for the driven machine and compare it with the coupling rating. Then check bore range, speed limit and permitted misalignment.
Why does tightening torque matter?
Locking devices reach their rated torque only at the specified screw tightening torque and sequence. Too little loses grip and too much can damage the device or the hub.
What does a shaft-mount gear reducer replace?
It mounts directly on the driven shaft with a torque arm, replacing a foot-mounted reducer, coupling and base for conveyors and similar drives.
