LongTeng ER70S-6 Carbon Steel Solid MIG Welding Wire Supplied by Seven Star LLC

Welding Consumables

Welding consumables are the electrodes, wires and rods that end up as weld metal, so they are bought by classification, not by description. This category lists stick electrodes, solid MIG wire, flux-cored wire, TIG rods and submerged arc wire from Ador Welding, Hyundai Welding, LongTeng, Lincoln Electric and Kobelco. Seven Star LLC supplies them from Muscat to fabricators, pipeline contractors and maintenance teams in Oman. Each product title carries the AWS classification, so the filler metal can be matched to the welding procedure specification (WPS).

Filler metal sub-categories

  • Welding electrodes: low-hydrogen, stainless, duplex, chrome-moly and nickel alloy stick electrodes, with cellulosic pipeline electrodes as a sub-group.
  • Solid welding wire: gas-shielded MIG/MAG wire for carbon, low-alloy, duplex and nickel alloy work.
  • Flux-cored welding wire: tubular wire for higher deposition in positional welding.
  • TIG welding wire: cut-length rods for root passes and alloy piping.
  • Submerged arc welding wire: wire for heavy plate, tanks, vessels and pipe seams.
  • Submerged arc fluxes: sourced on request to pair with the wire.

Matching the consumable to base metal and procedure

The filler is chosen from the base metal grade, the required strength and impact toughness, the service conditions and the process fixed in the WPS. The current listing reflects typical oil, gas and power work: E7018 types for structural and pressure parts, E6010 to E8010-P1 for line pipe, B3 and B91 grades for chrome-moly piping, 2209 and 2594 for duplex and super duplex, and alloy 625 for overlay and dissimilar joints. If a grade you need is not shown, send the classification and we will check what the manufacturers offer.

Certificates and what to state in the inquiry

State the AWS or EN ISO classification, diameter, pack or spool size and quantity in kilograms, plus the shielding gas or flux you will use. Many projects in the GCC ask for an EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate per batch. Say so at inquiry stage, along with any extra requirement such as a diffusible hydrogen class, an impact test temperature or sour-service testing, so we can confirm what the manufacturer issues for that product before quoting.

What to include in your inquiry

These details let us quote the right item the first time.

  • AWS or EN classification
  • Diameter
  • Base material to be welded
  • Packaging (spool, drum, kg) and quantity
  • Approvals or certificates required

Missing some of them? Send what you have. A nameplate photo or an old part number is enough to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I read an AWS classification such as E7018 or ER70S-6?
In E7018, E means electrode, 70 is the minimum tensile strength in ksi, 1 means all positions and 8 identifies a low-hydrogen iron powder coating. In ER70S-6, ER means electrode or rod, 70 is again the tensile strength, S means solid wire and 6 is the chemical composition group. Suffixes such as H4R or B3 add hydrogen and alloy information.
Can welding consumables be supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certificates?
The certificate type depends on the product and the manufacturer. Tell us at inquiry stage if you need a 3.1 certificate with actual batch results or a 2.2 certificate of typical values, and list any extra tests the project calls for. We check what the manufacturer issues for that product and batch, and supply the certificate with the goods when it is available.
Is one manufacturer's E7018 interchangeable with another's?
Two electrodes with the same AWS classification meet the same minimum requirements, but that does not make them interchangeable on every qualified procedure. Check if your code or client specification ties the WPS to a trade name, and compare optional designators such as H4R and the impact test temperature. Send us the current product name and we will propose the closest equivalent for your welding engineer to review.
When should I use solid wire, flux-cored wire or stick electrodes?
Solid wire with shielding gas suits workshop production where wind is not an issue and little slag is wanted. Gas-shielded flux-cored wire deposits more metal in vertical and overhead positions, at the cost of slag removal. Stick electrodes need no gas and only a simple power source, so they remain the practical choice for site repair, tie-ins and awkward access.
How should welding consumables be stored on a humid coastal site?
Keep everything in the original sealed packaging in a dry, covered store until needed. Low-hydrogen electrodes go into a holding oven after opening and are re-baked as the maker instructs. Cellulosic electrodes must not be baked. Wire spools should be covered or removed from the feeder overnight, because surface rust and moisture cause porosity and feeding trouble.
What do you need from me to quote filler metals?
The classification (AWS or EN ISO), diameter, packaging type and weight, and total quantity. Add the base metal grade and process if you want us to check the match, the shielding gas or flux in use, and the certificate type required. If the project has an approved manufacturer list, send it too, so we only propose brands the client will accept.
