ABB CR-P230AC2 Interface Relay 230 V AC 2 c/o 8 A
Description
CR-P230AC2: slim mains-coil relay with two 8 A changeover contacts
CR-P230AC2 is the 230 V AC, two-contact member of the CR-P range. It combines two changeover (SPDT) contacts rated 8 A at 250 V with a 0.75 VA coil, in a body of 12.7 x 29 x 15.7 mm that is 15.5 mm wide on the socket.
The relay is made for isolation and signal matching between a mains-level control signal and field devices. Because the coil draws only 0.75 VA, even small contacts such as pressure switches or float switches can drive it.

What the AC coil and two contacts mean in practice
The 230 V AC coil pulls in at 184 V and tolerates up to 276 V at 55 C, with drop-out at 15 percent of the rated voltage or more. Typical pick-up and release are 7 ms and 3 ms. The AC-coil version operates from -40 to +70 C ambient.
The two contacts are AgNi, each 8 A thermal, with AC1 breaking power of 2000 VA and making current of 15 A. The data sheet lists 2.5 kV between the two changeover contacts, so they can switch circuits at different potentials if the system voltage allows.
Sockets, modules and accessories
Use the CR-PSS standard screw socket (1SVR405650R1000) or the CR-PLS logical socket with protective separation (1SVR405650R0000). The CR-PJ jumper bar (1SVR405658R5000) joins coil terminals on screw sockets.
For 230 V AC coil protection ABB lists the CR-P/M 82 varistor (1SVR405656R2000) and the CR-P/M 52C RC element (1SVR405653R1000). A gold-contact two-contact version exists as the CR-P…G, for low-level signals.

About brand
ABB is the Swiss-Swedish engineering group for electrification and automation: low voltage drives, motors, circuit breakers and motor control, process instruments and analysers, control systems and robots. It was formed on 5 January 1988 by the merger of two older companies. ASEA was founded in Västerås, Sweden, in 1883 by Ludvig Fredholm to make electric lighting and generators. BBC Brown Boveri was founded in Baden near Zurich in 1891 by Charles E. L. Brown and Walter Boveri. ABB Ltd is incorporated in Switzerland, headquartered in Zurich and listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and Nasdaq Stockholm.

Choosing an ABB drive
ABB's ACS drive codes are easy to read once you know the pattern. In ACS580-01-046A-4, "ACS580" is the drive family, "01" means a wall-mounted single drive, "046A" is the rated output current (about 46 A) and "-4" means a 380–480 V supply. The family is chosen by application: ACS355 for compact machinery, ACS310 for simple pumps and fans, ACS580 as the general-purpose drive, ACQ580 for water and wastewater with pump functions such as pipe fill and dry-run protection, and ACS880 for heavy industrial duty with direct torque control. Size the drive on the motor's full-load current, not only its kW rating, and allow derating for the high ambient temperatures common in Gulf electrical rooms.
Where ABB products are used
In Oman and the GCC, ABB drives and motors run pumps, fans and compressors in water and wastewater plants, district cooling, oil and gas and industry. ABB flowmeters, level instruments and analysers are used in water utilities, power and desalination plants and refineries, and SACE breakers protect switchboards in buildings and plants.
