Rittal parts are ordered by a seven-digit model number such as 9404.600. Send that number, or the width, height and depth, material, protection category and door arrangement. For cooling units add the required cooling output, the rated voltage and the mounting cut-out of the unit being replaced. For Ex enclosures, state the zone and the marking required.

How do I identify a Rittal part from the model number?
Rittal uses a seven-digit model number written as four digits, a point and three digits, for example 9404.600. It is printed on the rating plate inside the enclosure or on the cooling unit label and identifies size, material and version. Quote that number in full. If the plate is missing, send the dimensions, the material and photos.
Is the Rittal TS 8 still the current enclosure system?
Rittal introduced the VX25 as the successor to the TS 8 baying system, so new projects are normally planned on VX25. Many TS 8 panels remain in service and accessories are not always interchangeable between the two. Tell us which system your panel is and the model number of the part, and we will check the current equivalent in the manufacturer's documentation.
What do I need to specify for a Rittal Ex enclosure?
State the hazardous area zone, the gas or dust group, the temperature class and the type of protection named in your specification. Then give the size, the material and the entries or gland plate you need. The enclosure certificate covers the empty housing, and the terminals and glands fitted inside must suit the same marking.
How is a Blue e+ cooling unit sized?
Sizing starts from the heat loss of the components inside the enclosure, the enclosure dimensions and how it is placed, the highest ambient temperature and the internal temperature you want to hold. Send those figures and the supply voltage. For a like-for-like replacement the model number on the existing unit is enough.
