Brand:

JUMO MIDAS S07 MA OEM Pressure Transmitter for Maritime Applications, Type 401021

Description

A compact pressure transmitter with shipbuilding approval for shipping and offshore

The JUMO MIDAS S07 MA (type 401021) is an OEM pressure transmitter with shipbuilding approval for shipping and offshore equipment. JUMO lists heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, refrigeration, motors, separators and pump manufacture as the application areas. A seal-less welded measuring system keeps the medium inside the device, the silicon sensor tolerates extreme overload even in the lowest ranges and millions of pressure cycles, and all parts in contact with the medium are stainless steel. The datasheet states that certificates for approved device versions can be downloaded from the manufacturer website, so the approval status of a specific order code should be confirmed before purchase.

Choosing range, output and connection

Select the measuring range code (454 to 464 for relative ranges up to 100 bar, 478 to 485 for ranges that include vacuum, and 488 to 495 for absolute ranges), then the output: 405 for 4 to 20 mA, or 415, 418 and 420 for the three voltage outputs. Material code 20 is standard stainless steel and 53 is 1.4404/1.4435 for the H2-ready version, which is only available with process connections 501, 502, 503, 504 or 511. The enlarged pressure channel (630) is offered only with 504, 511 and 521, with channel diameters of 8 mm for the G 1/4 DIN 3852 version and 12 mm for G 1/2 as drawn in the datasheet. Versions with a G 1/4 connection carry an FKM seal, whose medium compatibility must be checked.

The datasheet describes the device as suitable for measuring liquids and says its structure ensures optimum protection against process medium leakage. Typical shipboard circuits are hydraulic, lubricating, cooling or refrigerant lines, but the exact medium and temperature should be confirmed against the stated limits.

Installation, wiring and companions

Wiring is simple: for 4 to 20 mA the white lead carries UB or S plus and the brown lead 0 V or S minus; for the 3-wire outputs the green lead is the signal. The device must be connected to the plant potential equalisation through its electrical or process connection, and the supply must be a limited-energy circuit under EN 61010-1. Any mounting position is allowed, although calibration is done with the device upright and the process connection at the bottom.

For a general-purpose OEM transmitter in the same family see the published MIDAS S05, and for the full list browse pressure instrumentation. Quote requests should give the range and reference, output signal, medium and temperature, fixing thread, connector style and any approval document needed for the vessel.

About brand

JUMO is the German maker of temperature sensors, process controllers, pressure transmitters and liquid analysis instruments. Moritz Kurt Juchheim founded it in Fulda in 1948 as M. K. Juchheim KG, making glass thermometers with six employees. The name JUMO comes from the founder's name. It is still a family company headquartered in Fulda, and the parent company has been called JUMO GmbH & Co. KG since 2003.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list JUMO RTD and thermocouple probes, thermowells, transmitters, controllers, recorders and water analysis instruments, and supply them to process plants, OEMs, HVAC contractors and water utilities in Oman and the GCC by type number.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.

Where JUMO products are used

In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.

Ordering JUMO products: what we need

Send the JUMO type number and the full order code from the label (for example 902020/10-...). For probes, add the sensor type (Pt100, Pt1000, type K or J), the number of wires, the insertion length and diameter, and the process connection. For controllers, add the input, outputs and supply voltage.
