How do I read a Rosemount model string?
The string starts with the model, such as 3051T or 644, and continues with codes for measurement type, pressure range, output, wetted materials, process connection, housing and conduit entry. Option codes for approvals, display, brackets and certificates follow at the end. Two transmitters with the same model but different codes are not equivalent, so send the full string.
What can be found from a Rosemount serial number?
The serial number on the nameplate identifies one individual instrument, and the manufacturer's records link it to the model string and configuration it was built with. For a replacement inquiry send both the serial number and the model string. If the nameplate is partly unreadable, the serial number alone is often enough for the original specification to be traced.
Which certificates does the manufacturer issue with Rosemount transmitters?
Certificates are ordered through option codes in the model string. Common ones are Q4 for a calibration certificate and Q8 for material traceability certification to EN 10204 3.1, and hazardous area approvals are selected by their own codes. Documents are produced at the factory with the instrument, so list the ones you need in the inquiry.
What is the difference between the 3051T, 3051L and 3051CF?
They share the 3051 platform but serve different duties. The 3051T is an in-line transmitter for gauge and absolute pressure. The 3051L is a flange-mounted version for liquid level on tanks. The 3051CF is a DP flowmeter supplied as an assembly of transmitter, manifold and primary element. Sizing a 3051CF requires line size and flow data.
