JUMO PROCESStemp RTD Temperature Probes for Process Plants

Description

DIN 43772 RTD probes for chemical and petrochemical plants

The JUMO PROCESStemp series (type 902820) is a family of Pt100 resistance temperature probes for process technology: chemical and petrochemical plants, pressure vessels and similar applications that measure liquids and gases. Each probe combines a protection fitting to DIN 43772, a terminal head and an interchangeable measuring insert, and the 40-page data sheet covers screw-in, flanged and thermowell versions in one place.

The protection fitting is stainless steel 1.4571 as standard, and highly corrosion-resistant materials and coatings are optional. The standard sensor is Pt100 to DIN EN 60751:2009 / IEC 60751:2008 class B, and class A, class AA, two-element and 3- or 4-wire versions are available. Versions with flameproof enclosure or intrinsic safety cover potentially explosive areas, and SIL and PL compatible variants exist through extra codes.

How the order code works

The code starts with the basic type (for example 902820/10 screw-in with continuous protection tube), then the operating-temperature code, the measuring insert, the tolerance class (1 class B, 2 class A, 3 class AA), the tube diameter and insertion length EL (up to 1000 mm), the process connection (104 G 1/2, 106 G 1, 144 1/2 NPT, 146 1 NPT, 642 and 644 flange) and the protection-tube material (26 for 1.4571). Extra codes include 658 or 659 for SIL and PL compatible probes with yellow heads, and 362 for explosion protection.

The data sheet also lists standardized versions with fixed forms, for example B1 with 9 mm tube and 160 mm insertion in G 1/2, or C1 with 11 mm tube and 160 mm in G 1, as the quickest way to a stock configuration.

Choosing a probe for the plant

Decide first whether the probe is inserted directly or into a thermowell. Direct screw-in versions respond faster, whereas thermowells (see data sheet 909710) allow replacement without opening the process. For vessels, check the pressure rating of the fitting and the immersion length against the line size; EL up to 1000 mm is available.

In hazardous areas select the Ex d or Ex i head and a matching transmitter or barrier, and for safety loops use extra code 658 with the JUMO safety temperature limiter of data sheet 701150. JUMO offers factory test certificates to document measurement tolerance and materials.

Documents and quotation

Use the request form to ask for this model with your exact code. The attached JUMO PROCESStemp data sheet 902820 (EN, 40 pages) lists all variants and options, and the basic type, insertion length and process connection should be confirmed before the order is released. About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
