JUMO dTRANS T03 Analog Pt100 Temperature Transmitter, 2-Wire or 3-Wire, Type 707030

Description

An analog Pt100 transmitter with digital adjustment and 10 ms response

The JUMO dTRANS T03 family (type 707030 and relatives) converts a Pt100 resistance thermometer signal in 2-wire or 3-wire circuit into a linear output of 4 to 20 mA (2-wire transmitter) or 0 to 10 V (3-wire transmitter). Pt500 or Pt1000 linearization is available on request. Because the signal path is continuous analog rather than digitally sampled, the output reacts to a temperature change with a settling time of 10 ms or less and stays low-noise and insensitive to interference. Range-specific gain adjustment keeps accuracy high even on small spans.

Digital communication through the setup program adapts range, probe-break action and fine calibration. Two versions exist: 880/990 instruments are adjustable, calibrated for a fixed range and recalibrated later with the setup program, while 881/991 instruments are configurable, so the range is set without sensor simulation or measurement. Five housings cover terminal head Form J, terminal head Form B and rail mounting, each in 2-wire current or 3-wire voltage form.

Selecting a T03 version and decoding the order code

The order code reads basic type / extension – input – output / extra code, for example 707031 / 880 – 001 – 005 / 243. Extension 880 is adjustable and 881 configurable (factory-set with positive probe break and 0 ohm lead resistance); 990 and 991 are the same versions set to customer specification given in plain text. Input code 001 is Pt100 in 3-wire circuit and 003 is Pt100 in 2-wire circuit. Output code 005 gives 4 to 20 mA and 040 gives 0 to 10 V.

Type Mounting Output
707030 T03 J Terminal head Form J 4 to 20 mA
707031 T03 B Terminal head Form B 4 to 20 mA
707032 T03 T DIN rail 4 to 20 mA
707033 T03 BU Terminal head Form B 0 to 10 V
707034 T03 TU DIN rail 0 to 10 V

Extra code 243 supplies the transmitter in a surface-mounting case and 950 is for railway application on request. Accessories are the multilingual setup program, a USB/SPI PC interface (00553388), a fixing bracket for mounting 707031 and 707033 on a rail (00352463) and supply units described in data sheet 707500.

Wiring, range organization and fault behaviour

The transmitter is only designed for SELV and PELV circuits to DIN EN 50178 and must be fed from a limited-energy circuit as defined in DIN EN 61010-1. For a 2-wire sensor connection the lead resistance is factory-set to 0 ohm and can be changed through the setup program; with 3-wire connection the leads are compensated automatically. For spans below 75 degC the zero is fixed at -40, -20, 0, 20 or 40 degC (other values on request), while a 75 degC span allows a zero shift of +/-50 degC.

Measurement circuit monitoring follows NAMUR recommendation NE43: the current falls to 3.6 mA or less on underrange or probe short-circuit and rises to 22 to 28 mA (typically 24 mA) on overrange; for probe and lead break the direction is selectable, positive or negative. Original mounting accessories must be used. The T03 J and B sit inside a terminal head beside a Pt100 probe, which makes them a simple way to turn a resistance thermometer into a loop-powered signal for a PLC analog card.

As general guidance, record the order code printed on the nameplate before requesting a quotation, and keep the data sheet revision with the project documents so that later replacements match the installed device. Tell us the quantity, the delivery location in Oman and any wiring or mounting accessories you also need, and we will confirm availability and lead time for the exact variant.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.

Frequently Asked Questions
