JUMO dTRANS T04 Four-Wire Rail Transmitter for Pt100, Pt1000 or Potentiometer, Type 707040

Description

A DIP-switch or PC-configured four-wire transmitter with galvanic isolation

The JUMO dTRANS T04 (type 707040) is a four-wire transmitter for industrial temperature or resistance measurement with Pt100 or Pt1000 resistance thermometers or a potentiometer, in 2-wire or 3-wire sensor circuit. It sits on a 35 mm DIN rail to EN 60715 and delivers a selectable output of 0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V, linear with temperature or resistance. The analog signal path is continuous, so the output follows a temperature change quickly and with low noise, and range-specific gain adjustment preserves accuracy on small spans.

The measuring range and output response can be set directly on the instrument with a DIP switch, while the PC setup program offers further ranges and parameters. The supply is electrically isolated from the input and output, which helps in cabinets where signal grounds differ. Three basic versions cover Pt100, Pt1000 and potentiometer inputs, and the sensor type cannot be switched afterwards.

Ordering and configuring the dTRANS T04

The order code is 707040/basic version – input – output – supply, with the example 707040/1 – 888 – 888 – 23. Input code 888 is factory-set (3-wire circuit, 0 to 100 degC for the Pt types and 0 to 1 kohm for the potentiometer) and 999 is configuration to customer specification in plain text. Output code 888 is factory-set 0 to 20 mA and 999 customer-specified. Supply code 22 is AC/DC 20 to 53 V and 23 is AC 110 to 240 V. The datasheet advises checking whether the required range and output can be set by DIP switch, in which case factory-set can be ordered.

Accessory Part no.
PC setup program, multilingual 00448774
PC interface USB/TTL with adapters 00456352

The PC setup program configures a 14-character TAG number, probe and cable break response, range start and end, output signal and 2-wire lead resistance, and it provides fine adjustment of the output by +/-0.2 mA or +/-0.1 V. The transmitter must be connected to its supply during configuration.

Installation notes and signalling of faults

The device is intended for switching cabinet mounting to EN 50178 and for SELV/PELV circuits on the low-voltage version. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2 apply to EN 61010 part 1. There is no electrical isolation between input, output and setup connector, so connect the PC interface only when the loop is safe to do so. Fine adjustment through the setup program lets a technician compensate systematic errors such as those caused by an unsuitable probe mounting.

For underrange the 4 to 20 mA output falls to 3.6 mA or less, the 0 to 20 mA output goes below 0 mA and the voltage output below 0 V; for overrange the current rises to between 21.6 and 28 mA and the voltage to 11 to 14 V. Probe and cable break response, positive or negative, is selectable. With the potentiometer version the output is linear with resistance, so it suits valve-position feedback or damper positions alongside Pt100 measurements on the same rail.

As general guidance, record the order code printed on the nameplate before requesting a quotation, and keep the data sheet revision with the project documents so that later replacements match the installed device. Tell us the quantity, the delivery location in Oman and any wiring or mounting accessories you also need, and we will confirm availability and lead time for the exact variant.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
