JUMO dTRANS T1000 IO-Link Temperature Sensor

Description

Compact stainless steel temperature sensor with IO-Link

The JUMO dTRANS T1000 (type 902915) is a compact, fully welded stainless steel temperature sensor with an IO-Link interface to specification 1.1. A Pt1000 element in 4-wire measurement feeds an electronic unit that amplifies, digitises and transmits the value as process data, together with parameters, diagnostics and status messages.

It offers one IO-Link output or two switching outputs in SIO mode, each configurable for PNP or NPN, hysteresis or window function, normally open or closed, and switching delays up to 100 s. Two green LEDs show supply and IO-Link communication. The data sheet names process automation, food and beverage machines and general machine building, with many hygienic and standard process connections.

Why IO-Link

The point-to-point link uses standard prefabricated cables, avoids wiring errors and returns process values, parameters and diagnostics to the controller. Automatic parameter transfer allows a replacement sensor to be set up without a laptop, and a different but compatible sensor can be detected.

Response time depends on the protection tube: the 3 mm tube is fastest, the offset 6 mm tube sits in between and the standard 6 mm tube is slowest, which matters for fast control loops.

Selecting a version

State the range (150 or 260 C), the accuracy class, the tube diameter and length, and the process connection, for example a hygienic clamp. As a derived example, a pasteurising line at 95 C fits the 150 C range with a hygienic connection.

A pressure sensor with IO-Link, described in data sheet 402058, shares the same interface. Check the IO-Link master you plan to use and the approval status of the exact type code before ordering. Plan the cable route as well: IO-Link allows up to 20 m of unshielded cable, so long runs to remote skids need an IO-Link hub or a master located closer to the sensor, and the M12 connector must be tightened to keep the protection rating.

Commissioning is quick because the IO-Link master can write all parameters in one step: set the switching points, the hysteresis or window, the delays and the filter, then store them in the master so a replacement sensor receives the same set automatically. Label each sensor with its tag, and keep the IODD file with the project documents so that engineers can reconfigure the device years later.

Documents and quotation

Use the request form to ask for this model with your exact code. The attached JUMO dTRANS T1000 data sheet 902915 (EN) lists all variants and options, and the range, tube length and process connection should be confirmed before the order is released. About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
