JUMO 902050 Screw-In RTD Temperature Probe with Connection Line, Pt100/Pt1000

Description

A cable-connected screw-in RTD probe for liquids and gases

The JUMO 902050 is a screw-in RTD temperature probe with a permanently attached connection line, used to measure temperature in liquid and gaseous media in dry and humid rooms. JUMO lists apparatus engineering, meat product plants and slaughterhouses, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, industrial furnaces and heating systems, and refrigeration among its areas of application. The probe is available as a single or double RTD, seals reliably under vacuum and overpressure, and can be supplied SIL- and PL-qualified through extra codes.

Four basic types cover the mechanical designs: 902050/10 with fixed screw connection, 902050/20 with loose screw connection, 902050/30 with loose screw connection and a reduced protection tube (5.4 mm reduced to 3.3 mm), and 902050/40 with a threaded protection tube. The connection line is strain-relieved and offered in PVC, silicone, PTFE or metal braiding insulation, with optional bend protection by spring or tubing.

Reading the 902050 order code

The order code runs: basic type – operating temperature – measuring insert – tolerance class – protection tube diameter – insertion length – process connection – line end – line length / extra codes. The example in the datasheet is 902050/10-378-1001-1-6-100-104-11-2500/000, which describes a fixed G 1/2 screw-in probe with a silicone line, one Pt100 in 3-wire circuit, class B, 6 mm tube, 100 mm insertion and a 2.5 m line with ferrules. Measuring insert code 1003 is 1 x Pt100 2-wire, 1001 is 3-wire, 1011 is 4-wire, 1005 is Pt1000 2-wire, and 2003, 2001 and 2005 are the double versions.

Extra code Meaning
317 Shielded connection line
315 / 316 Bend protection spring / tubing
366 Inspection certificate 3.1 to DIN EN 10204
775 DAkkS calibration to ISO/IEC 17025
658 / 659 / 665 SIL and PL-compatible with safetyM, dTRANS T06 or dTRANS T07 T SIL
1160 H2 ready for mobile hydrogen application

Stock versions are listed with part numbers, for example 902050/10-378-1001-1-6-100-104-11-2500/316 (00065232), 902050/10-402-1003-1-6-50-104-11-2500/315,317 (30072369) and 902050/40-388-1001-1-8-25-111-11-2500/315,317 (00055732). Screw-in and welding protective sleeves belong to data sheet 909710.

Choosing the line material, tube length and protection

Select the connection line by the ambient temperature at the cable, not by the process temperature: PVC tolerates -5 to +80 degC, silicone -50 to +180 degC, PTFE -50 to +260 degC and metal braiding -50 to +400 degC. The reduced protection tube of type /30 is meant for small installation spaces, and the threaded tube of type /40 screws directly into an M8 hole. The SIL and PL extra codes apply only in connection with the named JUMO evaluation devices and not with other transmitters; extra codes 1150 to 1152 require tolerance class A or AA and 4-wire technology.

Insertion length should immerse the sensing portion well into the medium to limit stem conduction errors. Because the probe seals reliably in the event of vacuum and overpressure and has no terminal head to leak, it works on refrigeration lines, HVAC circuits, process skids, ovens and food equipment. Extra code 061 (UL) cannot be combined with the M12 plug connector.

Response and accuracy information helps to compare variants. In water at 0.2 m/s the 6 mm probe reaches half of a step change in about 2 s and 90 percent in about 6 s. Class A and AA tolerances are only available in 3-wire or 4-wire circuit, while class B is standard for 2-wire. Protection tube diameters of 5, 5.4 (reduced to 3.3) and 6 mm are available in stainless steel or Inconel, and the connection line is strain-relieved. Extra code 1160 provides an H2 ready version for mobile hydrogen applications.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
