Description

Universal 96 x 96 mm controller for temperature, pressure and process loops

The JUMO diraTRON 104 (type 702114) is the largest model in the JUMO diraTRON compact controller series. It has a 96 mm x 96 mm front with two 18-segment LCD displays, white for the actual value and green for the setpoint, plus a pixel matrix line for plain-text messages such as alarm or plant names. The four-key membrane keypad and IP65 front make it suitable for panel doors in workshops and process plants.

The basic unit already contains autotuning, a ramp function, a program controller with up to 24 segments, manual mode, four limit value monitors, timers and a service counter. A math and logic function and user applications written in structured text (ST code) are available as extra codes.

Configuration and setup

The controller can work as a two-state, three-state, three-step or continuous controller, with two parameter blocks and up to four setpoints selected by binary signals. Configuration is easiest with the JUMO setup program on a PC: the USB port powers the device during setup, so no mains connection is needed on the bench. The setup program also records start-up curves, edits setpoint programs and supports customer linearisation with up to 40 value pairs. For larger multi-loop systems see the JUMO DICON touch.

Panel builders often choose the 96 x 96 mm format because the large 24.8 mm digits stay readable from a distance, while the text line can show the loop name or an alarm message. Before ordering, confirm whether a three-step output for a motorised valve, a continuous 4 to 20 mA output, or simple relay switching is required, because the output options must be selected in the order code and some inputs and outputs cannot be used at the same time.

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label.
