Brand:

JUMO dTRANS T09 Cable Transmitter for Pt100/Pt1000, 4-20 mA or IO-Link, Type 707090

Description

An M12 in-line transmitter that retrofits any four-wire Pt100 or Pt1000

The JUMO dTRANS T09 is a cable transmitter for temperature that turns an existing Pt100 or Pt1000 probe into a standardized signal without opening a connection head. It is offered as the dTRANS T09 AS (type 707090) with a 4 to 20 mA analog output and as the dTRANS T09 DS (type 707091) with an IO-Link interface. Input and output are made through M12 plug connectors, so plant retrofitting and digitization need only short downtime and installation is plug and play.

The stainless steel case has protection ratings of IP66, IP67 and IP69 with mating connectors, and it withstands vibration of 10 g from 10 to 2000 Hz and shock of 20 g for 11 ms. The input is a four-wire Pt100 or Pt1000 over -50 to +260 degC. The AS version is configured with the JUMO setup program through a PC interface and a configuration cable, whereas the DS version is configured through an IO-Link master with the IODD file and can also be run as a switching output in SIO mode.

Order code, probes and accessories for the T09

The order code is basic type / configuration – input / extra code, with the example 707090 / 8 – 1011 / 061. Configuration 8 is the default setting (the AS output is scaled 0 to 100 degC; the DS output is fixed at -50 to +260 degC and not scalable) and 9 is a customer-specific setting. Measurement input 1011 is one Pt100 in four-wire circuit and 1013 one Pt1000 in four-wire circuit; a Pt100 version cannot connect a Pt1000 sensor and vice versa. Extra code 061 adds UL approval.

JUMO names the dTRANS T100 probe without electronics (type 902815), the VIBROtemp with M12 connector (type 902040) and other RTD probes with connecting lines as suitable partners. Power supply units are covered in data sheet 707500.

Installation, supply and monitoring

The supply must meet SELV requirements and come from a limited-energy circuit as defined in EN 61010-1. There is no galvanic isolation between sensor and output, so use a supply isolator or isolation amplifier (data sheet 707530) where ground loops are a concern. On the AS version the setting time after switch-on or reset is 5 s or less, and the output current is limited to 25 mA or less during a probe short-circuit or break.

On the DS version, process data are flagged invalid through a configurable IO-Link event, and the unit can drive a switching output in SIO mode. Because a four-wire probe is used, lead resistance of up to 11 ohm per line does not affect the reading. The compact stainless body, high ingress protection and shock rating make it a sensible choice for washdown areas, machine builders and skids where a head transmitter would be difficult to fit.

About brand

Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.

JUMO product families listed

JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:

  • dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
  • Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
  • digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
  • NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
  • RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs

Where JUMO sensors are used

JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.

Ordering JUMO parts: what we need

JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
