JUMO MIDAS H20 HP High-Pressure OEM Pressure Transmitter
Description
Thin-film transmitter for hydraulics up to 1000 bar
The JUMO MIDAS H20 HP (type 401020) is a thin-film OEM pressure transmitter for hydraulic pressure from 0 to 100 bar up to 0 to 1000 bar. Its welded sensor design is meant to stay leak-tight under more than 10 million load cycles, and the stainless housing is only about 35 mm long in its shortest form.
JUMO lists mobile hydraulics such as forklifts, harvesters and construction machinery, injection moulding machines, laundry and cleaning systems, welding machines and industrial hydraulics. Connector choices cover M12, Deutsch DT04, Metri-Pack, AMP Superseal, DIN line socket and an attached cable, and an ECE type approval is available for mobile hydraulic use.

Order code and options
After type 401020 and basic extension 000 the code gives the measuring range (464 for 100 bar, 465 for 160, 511 for 200, 466 for 250, 517 for 350, 467 for 400, 468 for 600, 469 for 1000, 999 special), the output (405, 412, 415, 418 or 420) and the process connection (511 NPT, 521 G 1/4, 544 UNF). The connection material is stainless steel (20), and the electrical connection is 11 attached cable, 36 M12, 52 Metri-Pack series 150, 61 DIN line socket, 77 AMP Superseal or 89 Deutsch DT04.
Extra codes are 061 for UL approval (indoor use), 591 for a choke in the pressure channel, and 624 for oil and grease free preparation. The G 1/4 connection is limited to ranges up to 400 bar and the 7/16-20 UNF connection to ranges up to 600 bar.
Using it on hydraulic systems
A choke in the pressure channel (extra code 591) damps pressure spikes in pump circuits, and the stated shock and vibration ratings suit machine-mounted installation. The product is rated for industrial use only. Choose the range so that normal working pressure is below the nominal end value; the overload and burst columns in the data sheet are in bar for each range.
For compressed-air and low-pressure work, the ceramic MIDAS type 401001 is the better match.
Installation on hydraulic machines and power units
Fit the MIDAS H20 HP at a point where it sees the pressure you actually want to control or monitor, for example directly after the pump, at a valve block or at an actuator port. Mounting it in a dead-end branch with trapped air can slow the response and distort readings during fast pressure changes. On mobile machines, route the sensor cable away from hot hydraulic lines, exhaust components and moving linkages, and secure it so that vibration does not work the connector loose over time.
Tighten the process connection to the torque given in the JUMO documentation and use the correct sealing method for the thread form chosen: the G 1/4 and UNF versions seal with the FKM seal listed in the data sheet, while the NPT thread seals on the thread itself. Follow the tightening method described in the manufacturer documentation and avoid applying force through the electrical connection or cable.
Electrical connection checks
Before power-up, confirm that the output option in the order code matches the input of the controller or PLC card. A 4 to 20 mA loop and a ratiometric 0.5 to 4.5 V signal are not interchangeable, and ratiometric outputs must be supplied from the same reference voltage the controller uses for its measurement. Keep signal wiring separate from solenoid and motor cables where possible to limit interference.
Commissioning and functional testing
With the system depressurised, check that the controller shows the zero-pressure value expected for the selected output. Then raise pressure in steps while comparing the transmitter reading with a calibrated reference gauge, if one is available on the test bench. Record these values as a reference for later checks. If pressure spikes are visible on the signal during valve switching or pump start, review whether the choke option described above would suit the circuit for future orders.
Selection checks for heat, dust and humidity in the GCC
Hydraulic equipment in Oman often works in direct sun, in dusty quarries and construction sites, or in humid coastal ports. When choosing the connector, compare the protection ratings listed in the specification table with the actual exposure: a connector that will be hosed down or splashed needs a different choice from one inside a closed cabinet. Check the medium temperature limit against the realistic oil temperature on a hot day, since hydraulic oil in a heavily loaded machine can run considerably warmer than in temperate climates.
Dust and sand affect the transmitter mainly at the connector and cable. Keep mating connectors closed when a sensor is removed, clean them before reconnection, and avoid leaving cable ends open on site. In humid areas, inspect connectors for corrosion at service intervals.
Maintenance during machine service
The transmitter itself has no user-serviceable parts, so maintenance consists of visual inspection, connector and cable checks, and periodic comparison against a reference gauge as part of the machine’s service plan. If a reading drifts or becomes unstable, check wiring, supply voltage and connector condition first before replacing the sensor, and quote the full type code when ordering a replacement so that range, output and connection match the original.

About brand
Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.
JUMO product families listed
JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:
- dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
- Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
- digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
- NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
- RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs
Where JUMO sensors are used
JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.
Ordering JUMO parts: what we need
JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
