Brand: JUMO
JUMO 902810 Hygienic RTD Temperature Probe for Food and Pharmaceutical Plants
Description
A hygienic Pt100 probe with CIP-compliant process connections
The JUMO 902810 is an RTD temperature probe for the food and pharmaceutical industry, suited to temperatures between -50 and +250 degC. Protection reaches IP69 to DIN EN 60529 (IP69K to DIN 40050) with the stainless steel terminal head, the protection tubes are stainless steel, and the insertion is described as CIP-compliant. Accuracy comes from single or double Pt100 elements to DIN EN 60751 class A, with class AA as an option. Analog or programmable two-wire transmitters can be installed for long transmission distances.
JUMO offers a wide set of hygienic process connections: screw connections G 3/8 and G 1/2 (the latter with a CIP-compliant conical seal), taper sockets with union nut (dairy pipe fitting) to DIN 11851, clamping sockets to DIN 32676, ball welding sockets, welding sockets with conical seal, VARIVENT connections, ball welding sleeves and the JUMO PEKA hygienic connection. Basic types 902810/40 and /41 are made to be used with the hygienic thermowells of data sheet 902812.

Matching the process connection, tube and certificates
The order code is basic type – measuring insert – tolerance class – tube diameter – insertion length – process connection – tube material / extra codes; the example is 902810/13 – 1001 – 2 – 6 – 100 – 380 – 24 / 000. Material code 24 is stainless steel 316 L and 26 is 316 Ti on request. Extra code 305 removes the extension tube and applies only to connections 104 and 380; 810 adds a G 1/2 welding socket for connection 380.
| Connection code | Type |
|---|---|
| 103 / 104 / 380 | G 3/8 / G 1/2 / G 1/2 with CIP conical seal |
| 601 / 604 / 605 | Taper socket DIN 11851 DN 10 / 25 / 32 |
| 611 / 613 / 616 / 617 | Clamp DN 10/20, DN 25/40, DN 50, 2.5 inch |
| 681 / 682 | Ball welding socket / welding socket with conical seal |
| 684 / 685 / 686 | VARIVENT DN 15/10, 32/25, 50/40 |
| 840 / 997 | Ball welding sleeve 316 Ti / JUMO PEKA |
Inspection certificates 3.1 to DIN EN 10204 are offered for insulation resistance (365), pressure test (367), leakage test (368) and material (374). Transmitter codes 330, 331, 333 and 550 apply to single Pt100 only and are not combined with code 058. For the /40 and /41 types the insertion length must equal that of the chosen hygienic thermowell 902812/10.
Installation in hygienic lines and cleaning cycles
Choose a connection that matches the line standard: dairy pipe fittings and clamps are common on milk, beverage and brewing lines, VARIVENT on GEA-type valve nodes, and welded sleeves where the sensor should be permanent. The stainless head with IP69K tolerates high-pressure and steam cleaning, but its ambient limit is +100 degC, and the ambient range shrinks with a transmitter fitted (data sheets 707010, 707030, 707050).
CIP and SIP cycles expose the probe to hot caustic and acid solutions and to steam, so the process temperature and the head temperature should be checked against the limits above. The thin 6 mm tube gives a quick response of about 10 s to t0.9 in moving water, and a thermowell variant allows the probe to be changed without opening the line. These properties suit dairies, breweries, juice and beverage plants, pharmaceutical water systems and food cooking lines.
The two cable-free head styles serve different washdown regimes. The stainless steel head is rated IP69 and IP69K with a plastic cable gland and tolerates only -20 to +100 degC ambient, while the die-cast aluminium forms are IP65 and cover -40 to +100 degC. Electropolished wetted parts to Ra 0.8 um or less (extra code 452) are not available with connections 104, 681, 682 and 840. Basic types 902810/40 and /41 use a 3 mm tube and an M14 x 1 adaption to thermowell 902812/10, so a probe can be replaced without opening the process. Welding socket G 1/2 is offered as extra code 810 for connection 380.

About brand
Temperature measurement is the origin of JUMO, founded in 1948 in Fulda, Germany, as a maker of glass thermometers. Today the catalog covers sensors and transmitters for temperature, pressure, level and liquid analysis, plus controllers and recorders. Seven Star LLC lists JUMO RTD probes, pressure and differential pressure transmitters, pH, conductivity, turbidity and dissolved oxygen instruments, and sources them for plants in Oman.
JUMO product families listed
JUMO uses family names that recur across the catalog:
- dTRANS: transmitters, including dTRANS T01 and T100 for temperature, dTRANS p02 DELTA for differential pressure, and dTRANS pH 02 and CR 02 for liquid analysis
- Wtrans: wireless probes and transmitters, such as Wtrans T for RTD temperature and Wtrans p for pressure
- digiLine and ecoLine: digital and optical analysis sensors, for example the digiLine O-DO S10 dissolved oxygen sensor and the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor
- NESOS: float-based level transmitters and switches
- RTD temperature probes: screw-in types such as 902030 and mineral-insulated designs
Where JUMO sensors are used
JUMO sensors and transmitters are typical of food and beverage lines, water and wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical utilities, heating and cooling systems, and packaged machinery supplied to the GCC by European builders. Many requests are for a like-for-like replacement of a probe fitted by the machine maker, where length, thread and connector have to match exactly.
Ordering JUMO parts: what we need
JUMO identifies each product group by a six-digit type number, such as 902030, followed by an order code that fixes the options. The label of the delivered item normally carries a part number as well. Send whichever you have, ideally both, or a photo of the label. For JUMO temperature probes add insertion length, diameter, process connection, sensor type and wiring. For JUMO pressure sensors state range, output, process connection and electrical connector. For analysis sensors name the transmitter they connect to and the cable length.
