JUMO flowTRANS MAG H10 Hygienic Magnetic Flowmeter, 406061
Description
A stainless steel magmeter for food, beverage and pharmaceutical lines
The JUMO flowTRANS MAG H10 (type 406061) is an electromagnetic flowmeter designed for hygienic applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The sensor is made completely of stainless steel with a vacuum-proof PFA liner, which makes it easy to clean, and the datasheet states that it meets the requirements of the 3A sanitary standards and uses FDA-compliant materials. A variable connection concept combines one standardised sensor with many process connections, so the same meter can be fitted with a Tri-Clamp, a dairy threaded union, weld stubs, a flange or a wafer body. It measures conductive liquids from 20 µS/cm, including demineralised water, and is available as an integral-mount meter or with a remote transmitter on a signal cable of up to 50 m.

Process connections and pressure limits
The wafer body allows 40 bar up to DN 50 and 16 bar for DN 65 to 100 at -25 to +130 °C. Weld stubs to DIN 2463, ISO 1127 or DIN 11850 allow 40 bar up to DN 40, 16 bar for DN 50 and DN 80 and 10 bar for DN 65 and DN 100, while SMS 1145 weld stubs are limited to 6 bar. Threaded connections to DIN 11851 are rated 40 bar up to DN 40. Because limits depend on the liner and the connection used, check the name plate values and the table in the datasheet before specifying the system.
Electrical details match the larger MAG S10 family: a 5 m signal cable ships with remote meters, a longer one is part number 00645914, and a pairing number links each sensor to its transmitter.
Hygienic installation and use
For 3A-compliant installations the datasheet limits the choice to weld stubs and Tri-Clamp connections, and it sets further rules: do not mount the meter with the terminal box or transmitter housing pointing downward, keep the leakage hole of the process connection at the lowest point, and note that the angel bracket option is not 3A compliant. A vertical position is preferred, and a horizontal meter must be installed so that it drains itself. The housing cover must be sealed without gaps.
Fit the sensor with the flow direction marked, 10 x DN of straight run upstream and 5 x DN downstream, and make sure that gaskets do not protrude into the flow, since turbulence affects accuracy. A conductive deposit can form behind graphite gaskets, so avoid them. CIP and SIP cleaning above the normal medium limit is allowed for a short time only, and the temperature is reduced when the ambient temperature rises above 25 °C. Typical locations are dairy and beverage filling, juice and syrup dosing, pharmaceutical purified-water loops and clean utilities, where the housing resists washdown at IP65, IP67 or NEMA 4X.
Using the flowTRANS MAG H10 in Oman and the GCC
The food and beverage industry in the region, including dairy, juice, bottled water and soft drink plants, uses hygienic magnetic flowmeters for dosing, batching, filling and CIP return lines. Pharmaceutical and personal care plants have similar needs. The all-stainless sensor with a PFA liner can be cleaned in place, and the variable connection concept means the meter can be fitted to the clamp or threaded connections already used in the plant.
For accurate batching, install the meter where the pipe is always full, such as a vertical line with upward flow, and keep the recommended straight runs. Check that cleaning temperatures and chemicals stay within the datasheet limits. Where plants run in hot climates, consider the location of the transmitter, keeping it out of direct sun and away from steam during cleaning.
Seven Star can supply the meter together with matching hygienic process connections and seals, so the whole assembly arrives ready for installation. For new lines, sending the piping drawing or a photo of the existing connection helps confirm the right fitting before the order is placed.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.
Where JUMO products are used
In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.
