JUMO flowTRANS MAG H01 Hygienic Magnetic Flowmeter, 406015
Description
A HART magmeter with 0.2 % accuracy for hygienic and Ex-area lines
The JUMO flowTRANS MAG H01 (type 406015) is an electromagnetic flowmeter developed for the food and pharmaceutical industry, with an all-stainless-steel design that is FDA-compliant and easy to clean. Its PFA lining is vacuum-proof and dimensionally stable, and the sensor withstands CIP and SIP cleaning up to 150 °C. Compared with the simpler H10 series, the H01 offers a standard accuracy of 0.4 % of the measured value with a 0.2 % option, HART communication as standard with PROFIBUS-PA as an option, and compact or remote versions approved for ATEX and IECEx gas zones 1 and 2 and dust zones 21 and 22. The variable connection concept fits Tri-Clamp, dairy thread, weld stubs or wafer bodies to one standard sensor, which reduces spare parts stock.

Housing, Ex options and electronics
The device exists in a single-compartment housing for non-Ex use and for zone 2, 21 and 22, and in a dual-compartment housing for zone 1, 21 and 22 on the compact design. The remote design is offered for zone 2. A SensorMemory in the sensor identifies it automatically, so the transmitter configures itself when voltage is applied and the sensor data and measuring-point parameters load without manual entry. Operation is by softkeys with a back-lit display that can be turned without tools, and an easy-setup function guides new users. Diagnostics include empty-pipe detection and sensor measurement, with NAMUR status classes and help texts, and limit values can be adjusted on site. A DTM supports further analysis of the diagnosis data, so critical states can be detected early and countermeasures taken before downtime occurs.
The universal transmitter module can deliver counting pulses, a 4 to 20 mA signal or a status output, each active or passive and selectable in software. The transmitter slot can be dismantled without unscrewing cables or removing connectors, which shortens a replacement. Electrical safety follows DIN EN 61010-1 and EMC follows DIN EN 61326-1 and 61326-2-3.
Selection and installation notes
Keep 10 x DN of straight pipe upstream and 5 x DN downstream and allow a 30 minute warm-up. If the ambient temperature exceeds 25 °C, subtract the difference from the cleaning temperature limit. When used in explosive atmospheres, observe the extra temperature tables for zone 1 and zone 2 in the datasheet. Wafer bodies allow 40 bar up to DN 50 and 16 bar for DN 65 to 100. The datasheet contains an order code for the compact design, the remote sensor and the remote transmitter. Scope of delivery for the compact design is the sensor and the transmitter as one unit, while the remote design lists sensor and transmitter as separate order codes. Typical duties are dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical water and chemical dosing, where a HART signal into the control system and a higher accuracy class justify this model.
Using the flowTRANS MAG H01 in Oman and the GCC
The H01 suits food, beverage and pharmaceutical plants where higher accuracy, HART communication or Ex approvals are needed, such as flavour and ingredient dosing, solvent lines and filling lines in hazardous areas. In the region, dairy, juice and bottled water producers, as well as pharmaceutical manufacturers, use this type of meter for batching and for monitoring CIP and SIP cycles.
For good results, keep the pipe full at the meter, observe the inlet and outlet runs in the operating manual and check that the cleaning temperatures stay within the stated limits. In Ex areas, the installation must follow the certificate and local rules. Keep the transmitter out of direct sun and away from hot steam lines, especially in summer.
Sending the existing line drawing helps us confirm the connection and the transmitter position before ordering.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.
Where JUMO products are used
In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.
