JUMO ecoLine O-DO Optical Dissolved Oxygen Sensor, Type 202613

Description

An optical oxygen sensor for aeration basins and wastewater plants

The JUMO ecoLine O-DO (type 202613) measures dissolved oxygen optically, by luminescence quenching, in a method the datasheet states is accredited according to ASTM D888-05. Without electrolyte changes, polarisation voltage or minimum inflow, it targets plants that want fewer maintenance visits. Integrated preamplification and digital signal processing give the sensor strong interference immunity, and the oxygen value is compensated automatically for temperature, air pressure and salinity before it travels over an RS485 Modbus RTU interface. Calibration data stays inside the sensor, so a replaced unit works plug and play, and a log book keeps the last ten successful calibrations in a ring buffer.

Choosing cable, material and fitting

The order code is not modular, so freely chosen combinations need technical release from JUMO. Two stainless-steel stock versions are listed, with 10 m or 30 m of fixed cable. Titanium versions for seawater and other corrosive media are manufacturing versions at 10 working days: 202613/20-8-20-10/000 (part no. 00693084) and 202613/20-8-21-10/000 with M12 plug (part no. 00693058). The M12 plug version connects to the JUMO digiLine bus. The membrane is susceptible to organic solvents, acids and peroxides as well as impacts, abrasion and cracks, so check the medium before choosing the sensor.

Three PVC fittings are listed, each rated 0 to 60 degC and up to 5 bar: a suspended fitting of 1549 mm length (00601881) for open basins, an angled immersion fitting of 3106 mm (00605469, shorter lengths on request) for aeration basins, and a flow fitting with a DN 50, 45 degree T-piece and bonded sockets (00601909) for pipes or bypasses. The datasheet recommends bypass measurement with shut-off valves so the sensor can be removed, and asks that fittings stay easily accessible for cleaning.

Planning notes from the datasheet apply to every fitting: do not let a suspended or immersion fitting swing against the basin edge, confirm that fitting and sensor meet the temperature and pressure of the installation, and have the system designer check chemical compatibility of every wetted material. The electrical side is simple. The fixed cable carries GND (black), +5 V supply from the display unit (red), RS485 minus (green) and RS485 plus (white) to screw-type plug-in terminals without soldering, while the M12 version uses pin 1 for +5 V, pin 3 for GND, pin 4 for RS485 B and pin 5 for RS485 A.

Display units, spares and applications

The sensor needs a Modbus master: the datasheet lists the JUMO AQUIS 500 RS (data sheet 202569), the AQUIS touch S/P (202580 and 202581) and the mTRON T system (705000 and 705001). Pillar-mounting accessories for the AQUIS 500 RS include a support pillar with pedestal base, cantilever arm and chain (00398163), a pipe-mounted kit (00398162) and a weather canopy (00398161). The maintenance item is the membrane cap with luminophore, part no. 00601917. Industrial and municipal sewage treatment, nitrification and de-nitrification, surface water monitoring, aquaculture and drinking water monitoring are the application areas given.

For other measuring points see the published AQUIS 500 CR, the AQUIS touch P or the ecoLine NTU turbidity sensor, and browse liquid analysis sensors for related probes. An enquiry should state the medium, expected oxygen range, temperature, pressure, cable length, steel or titanium, and the display unit it will connect to.

About brand

JUMO is the German maker of temperature sensors, process controllers, pressure transmitters and liquid analysis instruments. Moritz Kurt Juchheim founded it in Fulda in 1948 as M. K. Juchheim KG, making glass thermometers with six employees. The name JUMO comes from the founder's name. It is still a family company headquartered in Fulda, and the parent company has been called JUMO GmbH & Co. KG since 2003.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list JUMO RTD and thermocouple probes, thermowells, transmitters, controllers, recorders and water analysis instruments, and supply them to process plants, OEMs, HVAC contractors and water utilities in Oman and the GCC by type number.

Choosing a temperature sensor starts with the range and accuracy. A Pt100 RTD is accurate and stable from about -200 to 600 °C and is the usual choice in process plants. A thermocouple (type K or J, for example) covers much higher temperatures and responds faster but is less accurate. The wiring also matters: a 3-wire or 4-wire Pt100 connection cancels the resistance of the cable, while a 2-wire connection adds an error that grows with cable length. That is why a head-mounted transmitter is often fitted close to the sensor.

Where JUMO products are used

In Oman and the GCC, JUMO sensors and controllers are used in oil and gas and chemical plants, food and beverage production, plastics and metal heat treatment, HVAC and district cooling, water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools and marine applications.

Ordering JUMO products: what we need

Send the JUMO type number and the full order code from the label (for example 902020/10-...). For probes, add the sensor type (Pt100, Pt1000, type K or J), the number of wires, the insertion length and diameter, and the process connection. For controllers, add the input, outputs and supply voltage.

Facts checked against JUMO's company history, October 2026.
