Operating Principle
The TX contains two temperature sensors: one continuously heated slightly above process temperature, the other tracking ambient process temperature as a reference. When the medium covers the heated sensor, the improved heat dissipation changes the measured temperature differential, which the switch interprets as the presence of the medium; when the medium recedes, the differential returns to baseline. This principle works equally well for liquids and gases without requiring the medium to have specific electrical or dielectric properties.
Because the switch has no moving parts, it minimizes wear and maintenance needs, and it provides consistent switching output regardless of foam, turbulence, or coating on the sensor surface – conditions that would confound a capacitance or float-based switch relying on a different physical measurement principle.
