Guided wave radar sends pulses down a probe and times the reflection from the surface, so dust, vapour and changes in density don’t affect the reading. That is why it often replaces displacers on separators and chambers. Non-contact radar suits tanks where nothing should touch the product, and a higher frequency gives a narrower beam that avoids tank internals.

01Does the Eclipse 706 replace the earlier Eclipse 705?
The Model 706 is the later generation of the Eclipse guided wave radar transmitter and is the model listed here. When replacing a 705, the existing probe and the transmitter head have to be checked together, so send both model numbers and the serial number. We compare them with the manufacturer's documentation before confirming what can be reused.
02How do I choose between Pulsar R96, R86 and R80?
They are non-contact radar transmitters working at 6 GHz, 26 GHz and 80 GHz. Higher frequency gives a narrower beam and allows a smaller antenna, which helps with small nozzles and internal obstructions, while lower frequency copes better with some difficult surface conditions. Send the tank drawing, nozzle size, fluid and process conditions for a selection check.
03Why are two model numbers needed for an Eclipse guided wave radar?
The Eclipse is ordered as two items: the transmitter head with its electronics and housing, and the probe that enters the vessel. Each has its own model number on its own nameplate, and the probe code includes type, material, process connection and length. Without the probe number the wetted part of the instrument is undefined.
04What is the difference between Echotel 961 and 962?
Both are ultrasonic level switches that detect liquid in a gap at the tip of the transducer. The 961 has a single switching point, and the 962 has two points on one transducer for duties such as pump on and off control. Send the insertion length, process connection and output type when ordering.
