Overview

The VEGASWING 61 is a universal level switch for use in all liquids. Independent of the mounting position, it detects reliably with millimetre accuracy the limit level. Measurement Principle

The VEGASWING 61 uses a compact tuning fork that vibrates at its mechanical resonance frequency. When the fork becomes immersed in liquid, its resonance frequency shifts detectably, and the integrated electronics evaluates this change to output a direct switching signal. Because the switching point is determined purely by the mechanical properties of the fork rather than the electrical properties of the medium, it functions reliably regardless of pressure, temperature, foam, viscosity, or the composition of the liquid.

As a compact instrument, the VEGASWING 61 can be operated without any external evaluation system—the switching signal can directly operate a connected device such as a warning light, pump, or valve. Setup requires minimal time and cost expenditure since no calibration with the actual process medium is necessary, and the instrument can be installed in virtually any orientation as long as the fork remains unobstructed.
