Overview

The Liquiline CM442 is Endress+Hauser’s state-of-the-art 1-/2-channel multiparameter transmitter for pH, ORP, conductivity, oxygen, chlorine, turbidity, sludge level, SAC, nitrate, and many other liquid analysis parameters. Built on the modular Liquiline platform, the CM442 allows up to 2 Memosens digital sensors of choice from over 12 measurement parameters to be connected to a single robust field transmitter.

Measurement Principle

The Liquiline CM442 operates on Memosens digital sensor technology, which converts the measured value to a digital signal at the sensor itself and transfers it to the transmitter without a contacting connection. This non-contact, digital signal transmission enables optimum galvanic isolation, eliminates contact corrosion, and results in a completely watertight measuring point, while also supporting laboratory sensor calibration for increased measured value availability.

Memosens technology further enables predictive maintenance by recording sensor data such as total operating hours, hours of operation with high or low measured values, hours at high temperatures, and sensor condition history. Depending on the sensor connected, the CM442 supports potentiometric pH/ORP measurement, conductive and inductive conductivity measurement, amperometric dissolved oxygen measurement, four-beam alternating light turbidity measurement, and ultrasonic sludge level detection, among others.

Engineering Design of the Liquiline CM442

The Liquiline CM442 features a robust plastic housing (PC-FR base, EPDM seal) rated IP66/IP67, suitable for all non-Ex applications, with overall dimensions of 237 x 194 x 162mm. Its operating process temperature range spans -20°C to +60°C, and the transmitter accepts 1 to 2 Memosens digital inputs as standard, with optional 2x 0/4-20mA current inputs and 2x digital inputs.

Output and communication options include 2 to 8 current outputs (0/4-20mA), alarm relay, up to 2 relays, and digital fieldbus support via PROFIBUS DP, Modbus RS485/RTU, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET, plus an integrated webserver for remote diagnostics, configuration, and parameter access from any browser, including smartphones. The modular design allows extension to up to 8 measuring channels at any time, and configuration can be saved to an SD card for fast duplicate setup across multiple installations.
