Measurement Principle
The Micropilot FMR52 operates as a downward-looking time-of-flight (ToF) measuring system: radar impulses are emitted by the antenna, reflected off the product surface, and received again by the radar system, with the distance from the reference point (process connection) to the product surface computed from the time delay. Operating in the K-band at approximately 26GHz, the FMR52 achieves ±2mm accuracy across a maximum measuring range of 40m (131 ft), extending to 60m (197 ft) in extended configurations.
