Sitelab, founded in 1998 in West Newbury, USA, builds ultraviolet fluorescence (UVF) analyzers for measuring petroleum hydrocarbons on site instead of waiting for a laboratory report. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Oman, lists the Sitelab UVF-Trilogy in its TPH, GRO, EDRO, PAH and fingerprinting configurations, together with the handheld UVF-500D hydrocarbon analyzer for field work.

Sitelab analyzers listed here

Two instruments make up the range on this page. The UVF-Trilogy is the bench instrument, and the five listings differ by the analysis it is set up for:

  • TPH oil: total petroleum hydrocarbons
  • GRO: gasoline range organics
  • EDRO: extended diesel range organics
  • PAHs: polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
  • Fingerprinting: comparing the fluorescence pattern of a sample with known products

The UVF-500D is a handheld, battery-operated unit with two optical channels, used mainly for oil in water and for heavier oils in soil. With UVF, the sample is extracted in solvent and the aromatic compounds in the extract fluoresce under ultraviolet light; the instrument reads that signal against calibration standards.

Where Sitelab UVF testing is used

The typical users are environmental consultants, remediation contractors and oilfield laboratories who need a number the same day: soil from a spill or tank excavation, sediment, groundwater, and oil in water. In the GCC this usually means contaminated land assessment and produced water checks. Screening results are normally confirmed by a laboratory method where a regulator requires it.

Ordering a Sitelab analyzer: what we need

Tell us which hydrocarbon ranges you need to report (GRO, EDRO, TPH, PAH), the sample types, and the concentration range you expect. For an existing instrument send the model and serial number, and say which calibration kits and consumables you need to replace. With that we can ask for the correct configuration and accessories in one quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Sitelab UVF-Trilogy and the UVF-500D?
The UVF-Trilogy is the bench instrument and is listed here in separate configurations for TPH, GRO, EDRO, PAH and fingerprinting work. The UVF-500D is a handheld analyzer intended for screening on site. If you must report several hydrocarbon ranges from the same sample, describe that in the inquiry so the right instrument and calibration kits are quoted.
Which Sitelab configuration do I need for diesel or gasoline contamination?
Gasoline contamination is reported as GRO, gasoline range organics. Diesel and heavier oils are reported as EDRO, extended diesel range organics. Total oil content is covered by the TPH configuration, and PAH is a separate analysis. Tell us what your regulator or client asks you to report and we will request the matching setup.
What samples can be tested with a Sitelab UVF analyzer?
UVF analyzers measure hydrocarbons in a solvent extract, so the sample is first extracted. Soil, sediment and water are the usual matrices. State the matrix and the expected concentration when you inquire, because extraction supplies and calibration standards are chosen to suit them.
What should I send for a quotation on Sitelab equipment?
Send the instrument you want (UVF-Trilogy or UVF-500D), the analyses required, sample types, and the number of samples you expect to run so consumables can be sized. For spares or calibration kits, add the serial number of your instrument. Mention the destination country so the correct shipping documents for solvents and standards are requested.
Is Seven Star LLC a distributor of Sitelab?
No. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier and is not a distributor or agent of Sitelab. We source Sitelab UVF analyzers and accessories through commercial channels, check the model or order code against the manufacturer's documentation before ordering, and provide the manufacturer's datasheet and the certificates the manufacturer issues with the order on request.
