Brand:

Pfannenberg PA X 20-10 PATROL Flashing Sounder 122 dB(A)

Description

A 122 dB(A) PATROL sounder and flashing light for noisy industrial areas

The Pfannenberg PA X 20-10 and PA X 20-15 are the loudest PATROL flashing sounders, with up to 122 dB(A) and 10 J or 15 J of flash energy. They are for large halls, plant areas and noisy process locations where a compact unit would not be heard. The PA X 10-10 and PA X 10-15 use the same housing family at 117 dB(A). All keep the PATROL features: factory pre-wired sounder and light, impact-proof IP66 housing, 80 tones with 4 externally selectable, and an operating range from -40 °C to +55 °C.

Pfannenberg lists UL approval and EAC on the product page, with DNV, MED and MER certificates in the downloads; no EN 54 mark appears for this model in the product sheet.

Common data: sound level reduction up to -12 dB via potentiometer; operating ranges 187-255 V AC, 90-135 V AC, 18-30 V DC plus further DC ranges; relative humidity 90%; IP66; protection class II; PC/ABS blend sounder housing in RAL 3000 or RAL 7035 with a polycarbonate lens; 4 x M20 knock-outs on the side and one on the back; 6 to 13 mm cable grommet; light emission still 70% after 8,000,000 flashes.

Ordering and accessories

Pfannenberg orders these units by voltage (230 V AC, 115 V AC or 24 V DC), lens colour (clear, yellow, amber or red, with blue also offered on some versions) and housing colour (red or grey). The listed accessories are the surface gasket 28300000006 and the tamper-proof sealing 28300000002 (pack of 4). The product sheet carries the article-number table; quote it from the sheet rather than from memory because the PA X 10 and PA X 20 share a table.

Selection notes

Choose the sound output from the ambient noise at the alarm position, not only the room size. Reducing the sound level with the potentiometer is possible by up to 12 dB, so a loud unit can be commissioned down. The wider housing needs more mounting space than the PA X 1 and PA X 5; the sheet gives the dimensions. Use the Pfannenberg Sizing Software to calculate the number of devices.

Documents and quotation

The attached Pfannenberg product sheet covers the PA X 10-10, PA X 10-15, PA X 20-10 and PA X 20-15. Confirm the final article number, voltage, lens colour, housing colour, tone and approval requirement before ordering, because the approvals apply to specific versions. For a quotation, send the article number or the full version, quantity, supply voltage and the project specification. Browse more Fire & Gas Detectors on this site.

About brand

Pfannenberg is a Hamburg-based family company that makes signaling devices and thermal management products for industrial use. Otto Pfannenberg founded the company in 1954, and its history includes the invention of the filter-fan in 1958 and of the electronic flashing beacon in 1962.

Pfannenberg signaling range

The signaling range covers PATROL and PYRA combined sounders and flashing lights, PROTECT sounders for hazardous areas, and INTENSE modular signal towers. PATROL PA X units are offered from 105 dB(A) to 122 dB(A), and the PRO 10-Ex sounder is specified for zone 2 and zone 22 explosive atmospheres with Ex ec and Ex tc protection.

Requesting a quote for Pfannenberg devices

Send the article number or the full device designation, such as PA X 1-05, together with the supply voltage, lens colour, housing colour and any approval the project requires, for example EN 54-3 or an Ex certificate. Pfannenberg approvals apply to specific versions, so the exact article number is needed to confirm them.
