Brand:

Pfannenberg PA X 1-05 PATROL Flashing Sounder 105 dB(A)

Description

A compact fire-alarm sounder and beacon for harsh locations

The Pfannenberg PA X 1-05 is the smallest PATROL flashing sounder: a combined sounder and xenon flashing light that delivers up to 105 dB(A) and 5 J of flash energy in an impact-proof IP66 housing. Pfannenberg describes PATROL as its newer generation of sounder and flashing-light combinations, with the sounder and the light pre-wired from the factory and a design in which incorrect installation is virtually impossible. It operates from -40 °C to +55 °C, which suits outdoor and industrial installations as well as buildings.

Approvals depend on the version. Pfannenberg marks the 24 V DC versions with clear or red lens (housing red or grey) as having EN 54-3 and EN 54-23 approval, and lists VdS, UL, CNBOP, DNV, MED, MER and EAC documents in the download section of the product page. Always confirm that the article number you order is the approved version.

Ordering code and article numbers

The article numbers in Pfannenberg’s ordering table follow a readable pattern. For the PA X 1-05 the base is 23311, followed by a voltage group (10 for 230 V AC, 15 for 115 V AC, 80 for 24 V DC), a lens digit (1 clear, 3 yellow, 4 amber, 5 red) and a housing suffix (000 red housing, 055 grey housing). Verify the final number against the product sheet.

Lens 230 V AC 115 V AC 24 V DC
Clear 23311101000 23311151000 23311801000 (EN 54-3 and EN 54-23)
Yellow 23311103000 23311153000 23311803000
Amber 23311104000 23311154000 23311804000
Red 23311105000 23311155000 23311805000 (EN 54-3 and EN 54-23)

Grey housing versions use the same numbers ending 055. Accessories listed: enclosure fitting 28300000003, surface gasket 28300000004, tamper-proof sealing 28300000002 and a panel mounting kit.

Selection notes

Pick the PA X 1-05 for corridors, plant rooms and small process areas where a compact unit is enough. Use the larger PA X 5, PA X 10 and PA X 20 versions where higher sound output or longer viewing distance is needed. Pfannenberg provides the Pfannenberg Sizing Software and a 3D coverage tool to determine how many devices an area needs, so use them rather than assuming one device per room.

Documents and quotation

The attached Pfannenberg product sheet covers the PA X 1-05, PA X 5-05 and PA X 5-10. Confirm the final article number, voltage, lens colour, housing colour, tone and approval requirement before ordering, because the approvals apply to specific versions. For a quotation, send the article number or the full version, quantity, supply voltage and the project specification. Browse more Fire & Gas Detectors on this site.

About brand

Pfannenberg is a Hamburg-based family company that makes signaling devices and thermal management products for industrial use. Otto Pfannenberg founded the company in 1954, and its history includes the invention of the filter-fan in 1958 and of the electronic flashing beacon in 1962.

Pfannenberg signaling range

The signaling range covers PATROL and PYRA combined sounders and flashing lights, PROTECT sounders for hazardous areas, and INTENSE modular signal towers. PATROL PA X units are offered from 105 dB(A) to 122 dB(A), and the PRO 10-Ex sounder is specified for zone 2 and zone 22 explosive atmospheres with Ex ec and Ex tc protection.

Requesting a quote for Pfannenberg devices

Send the article number or the full device designation, such as PA X 1-05, together with the supply voltage, lens colour, housing colour and any approval the project requires, for example EN 54-3 or an Ex certificate. Pfannenberg approvals apply to specific versions, so the exact article number is needed to confirm them.
