Before anyone enters a vessel or breaks a flange, somebody checks the air with a gas monitor. Industrial Scientific, founded in 1985 in Pittsburgh, USA, concentrates on that job: portable gas detection and monitoring for workers and work areas. Three instruments are on this page. The Ventis Pro5 is a personal multi-gas monitor that, according to the manufacturer, reads up to five gases at once, has man-down and panic alarms, an optional pump and LENS wireless links between instruments. The MX6 iBrid is a multi-gas monitor for a larger sensor set. The Radius BZ1 is an area monitor, placed at a work site to watch the surrounding air.

Ordering Industrial Scientific gas monitors: what we need

These instruments are built to order around a sensor list. State each gas you need, for example LEL, O2, CO and H2S, and the LEL sensor type if your site standard names one. Say whether a pump is required, which battery, and the approval marking your site accepts. Add chargers, docking stations and test gas fittings if needed. For spare sensors, send the instrument model, its serial number and the sensor part number.
