Working Principle
The MSA ALTAIR 4XR uses electrochemical and catalytic bead sensing elements housed in plug-and-play MSA XCell sensor modules, each built around application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) technology that gives greater control and higher performance than conventional sensor designs. Combustible gas concentration is measured via the LEL sensor, while dedicated electrochemical cells independently monitor oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon monoxide levels, virtually eliminating cross-channel interference between the four measured gases.
