Brand:

Pfannenberg PF 66.000 Filterfan, up to 785 m³/h, Size 6

Description

A high-flow filterfan for large enclosures

The Pfannenberg PF 66.000 is an installation-size-6 filterfan from the eCool generation, delivering up to 785 m³/h of free air. It is built in three electrical versions, 400/460 V three-phase, 230 V and 115 V, and in IP 54 and IP 55 protection, so it fits both three-phase industrial cabinets and single-phase machines. It is meant for large control cabinets and switchgear compartments where a lot of heat has to be carried out with ambient air.

Two PFA 60.000 exhaust filters usually accompany it; the cooling-capacity curves on the sheet show combinations of one PF with two PFA. The cut-out is compatible with installation size 6 of the third generation and with the cooling unit DTFI 9021, so a filterfan and that cooling unit can share the same installation cut-out.

Accessories and sizing

The sheet lists the exhaust filter PFA 60.000 in grey (11760002055, 12-piece packing 11760002413) and black (11760002050), spare filter mats (IP 54: 18611600033, IP 55: 18611600037), a thermostat (17121000000), a hygrostat (17207000000) and a stainless steel rain hood (18102000020). Use the in-combination air flow, not the free-air value, to size the installation. The cooling-capacity chart on the sheet gives the heat removed per kelvin of temperature difference for one PF with one or two exhaust filters.

Selection and what to confirm before ordering

Select the version from the supply voltage first, then the protection class from the environment: choose IP 55 with the fluted filter where dust or spray is present. Check the temperature rise: the enclosure interior cannot be cooler than the outside air, so in a hot climate this filterfan only suits loads whose permitted inside temperature is well above the summer ambient. Where it is not, a cooling unit such as the DTT 6301 or a wall-mounted unit is the correct tool. For a comparison within the site range see the Rittal Blue e+ wall-mounted cooling units and the Cooling category.

Confirm voltage and frequency, number of exhaust filters, wall thickness and cut-out compatibility, and the thermostat or hygrostat to control the fan.

How the Pfannenberg PF 66.000 works

The PF 66.000 is a filterfan. A fan on the cabinet door or wall draws cool room air through a filter mat and blows it into the enclosure. The warm air inside leaves through an exhaust filter on the opposite side. This keeps the temperature in the cabinet a little above the room temperature and keeps the dust out. It works only when the room air is cooler than the allowed cabinet temperature. A thermostat can switch the fan on and off as needed.

Where the Pfannenberg PF 66.000 is used

  • Large control cabinets
  • Switchgear compartments
  • Drive and inverter panels
  • Machine tool cabinets
  • Power distribution boards

Selection checklist for the Pfannenberg PF 66.000

  • Voltage: 400/460 V three-phase, 230 V or 115 V
  • Protection: IP 54 or IP 55
  • Air flow with the exhaust filter fitted
  • Heat load in the cabinet
  • Highest room temperature
  • Installation size 6 cut-out
  • Number of PFA 60.000 exhaust filters
  • Thermostat or hygrostat

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes for PF 66.000

Cut the opening for installation size 6 and fit the fan with its gasket. Place the exhaust filter on the opposite side or higher on the cabinet. Connect the supply through the spring-type terminal and fuse it with 6 A. Check the rotation and the air flow. Replace the filter mats when they are dirty, because a blocked mat lowers the air flow.

Requesting a quotation for the Pfannenberg PF 66.000

Please send the voltage, the protection class, the cabinet size, the heat load and the quantity. Seven Star LLC serves industrial customers in Oman and the GCC and replies with a quotation based on the information provided.

PF 66.000 air flow

The free air flow is 640 / 653 m3/h in IP 54 and 770 / 785 m3/h in IP 55. With the exhaust filter fitted it is 445 m3/h in IP 54 and about 490 to 501 m3/h in IP 55.

PF 66.000 electrical data

The power is 110 to 160 W depending on the voltage. The current is 0.26 A at 400 V, 0.53 A at 230 V and 0.96 A at 115 V on 50 Hz.

PF 66.000 housing and filter

The housing is UL 94 V-0 thermoplastic, RAL 7035, UV-resistant in IP 55. The filter mat is class G4 and the weight is 3.2 kg.

PF 66.000 duty and temperature

The duty cycle is 100 percent with a ball bearing and an L10 life of 40,000 h at +40 degrees C. The temperature range is -40 to +55 degrees C.

Cooling records for PF 66.000

Record the cabinet temperature, the filter change dates and the fuse rating with the panel file.

Choosing the right PF 66.000 version

Size the fan from the in-combination air flow, not the free-air figure, and choose IP 55 where the air is dusty.

About brand

Pfannenberg is a Hamburg-based family company that makes signaling devices and thermal management products for industrial use. Otto Pfannenberg founded the company in 1954, and its history includes the invention of the filter-fan in 1958 and of the electronic flashing beacon in 1962.

Pfannenberg signaling range

The signaling range covers PATROL and PYRA combined sounders and flashing lights, PROTECT sounders for hazardous areas, and INTENSE modular signal towers. PATROL PA X units are offered from 105 dB(A) to 122 dB(A), and the PRO 10-Ex sounder is specified for zone 2 and zone 22 explosive atmospheres with Ex ec and Ex tc protection.

Requesting a quote for Pfannenberg devices

Send the article number or the full device designation, such as PA X 1-05, together with the supply voltage, lens colour, housing colour and any approval the project requires, for example EN 54-3 or an Ex certificate. Pfannenberg approvals apply to specific versions, so the exact article number is needed to confirm them.
