DURAG ignition and flame monitoring equipment
A high energy igniter such as the D-HG 400 stores electrical energy and discharges it as a spark at the tip of an ignition lance. DURAG lists compact versions, where lance and ignition unit form one assembly, and separated versions, where the unit is joined to the lance by a high-voltage cable. Lance length is set by the burner. DURAG also builds flame monitors and flame scanners, gas-fired ignition and pilot burners, and D-R series dust monitors for emission measurement.

What makes up a DURAG D-HG 400 ignition system?
In the separated version the system has three main parts: the ignition unit that stores and releases the energy, a high-voltage connecting cable, and the ignition lance with its spark tip that reaches into the burner. In the compact version, lance and ignition unit are one assembly. Parts can be ordered separately when the type data is known.
How do I identify the right spark tip or lance for an existing DURAG igniter?
Use the type plate on the ignition unit and any marking on the lance. Lances are made to a length and diameter that suit the burner, so measure the insertion length and outside diameter and photograph the tip and the connector. Send these with the unit's type and serial number. We compare them with the manufacturer's documentation before quoting.
Is a DURAG flame scanner part of the D-HG 400 ignition device?
No. Ignition and flame supervision are separate functions. The D-HG 400 lights the burner, while a DURAG flame monitor or scanner with its control unit proves that the flame is present and reports to the burner management system. If you need both, list them as separate items and give the fuel, burner type and existing control unit model.
