Honeywell Chadwick-Helmuth Vibrex 2000 (V2K) Vibration Analyzer

Description

Overview

The Honeywell Chadwick-Helmuth Vibrex 2000 (V2K) is a portable vibration analysis and balancing tool that rapidly acquires and analyzes aircraft and engine vibration data, then calculates the balance solution for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. It is used for helicopter rotor track and balance, propeller balance and general vibration analysis across a broad frequency range. The instrument stores the acquired data and the computed correction weights, letting the maintenance crew apply and verify the balance change on the same flight. The Vibrex 2000 line is the successor of the 8500 series and is supported by Chadwick-Helmuth service and calibration, now provided by Diagnostic Solutions International.

The Vibrex 2000 acquisition is carried out in three phases on the flight line: the kit is installed on the aircraft, the data are recorded during the run-up and the balance solution is computed and applied. The sensor is mounted on the prescribed pick-up point, the tachometer provides the speed reference for the rotor, and the analyzer acquires the vibration amplitude and phase at the rotor speed and its harmonics. The unit memory stores the configuration for the aircraft type, so the operator recalls the sensor channel and the analysis parameters at the start of the job.

Engineering and Design

The Vibrex 2000 balances propellers without the need of a paper chart, and it can also use any of the 150 available paper charts or factory charts when the operator prefers the classic procedure. Multiple channel input allows several balance jobs to be handled from a single setup, for example main rotor, tail rotor and engine in one pass. Automatic weight sensitivity correction refines the computed solution as data from successive runs is added, which shortens the number of trim flights required to reach acceptable vibration levels.

The analyzer is built for carry-on operation: the complete kit travels in a rugged case with the sensor set, mounting hardware and cables, and is powered from the aircraft supply during the run-up. The operator places the vibration sensor on the prescribed pick-up point, the tachometer signal provides the speed reference, and the unit tracks the vibration amplitude and phase at the rotor speed and its harmonics. The same acquisition routine is used for vibration surveys and for trend analysis between scheduled maintenance events.

In routine operation the Vibrex 2000 kit is configured for the aircraft type before the run: the sensor channel is assigned to the main rotor, tail rotor or engine pick-up point, the tachometer input is connected to the speed reference, and the data are recorded during the run-up at the prescribed speed. The analyzer stores each acquisition with the flight condition, so the crew can compare the current readings with the previous runs and verify that the applied corrections moved the vibration level in the expected direction. Operators that perform rotor track and balance on several aircraft types keep one analyzer kit for the fleet and store the configuration parameters for each type in the unit memory.

Why Seven Star LLC

Seven Star LLC supplies Honeywell Chadwick-Helmuth vibration instruments, including the Vibrex 2000 analyzer kit, to helicopter and aviation maintenance organisations across Oman and the GCC. Every unit is checked against the full part description before your order is confirmed, and our team verifies the kit configuration, sensor set and accessories for your aircraft type. The Vibrex 2000 is specifically a vibration analysis tool, used for diagnosing and trending rotor and drivetrain vibration signatures, so before quoting a kit we confirm which accelerometers, tachometer inputs, and helicopter-specific cabling your maintenance program actually needs, since a kit configured for one airframe’s sensor mounting points is not automatically correct for another.

For MRO facilities and operators running vibration monitoring across a mixed helicopter fleet, we help plan sensor and cable spares around your scheduled maintenance intervals, so a damaged accelerometer or cable does not delay a vibration check that is already on the schedule. Where a facility is unsure whether the Vibrex 2000 or a different Chadwick-Helmuth instrument better fits a specific diagnostic task, such as rotor track and balance work rather than general vibration trending, we are glad to walk through the distinction before recommending a specific kit, so your maintenance team invests in the instrument that actually matches the diagnostic work in front of them, rather than one chosen on assumption alone, without confirming the actual diagnostic requirement first.

About brand

Fixed gas and flame detection takes up the largest share of our Honeywell listing: Searchline Excel open path detectors, Sensepoint XCD and XRL point detectors, the XNX transmitter and the FS24X Plus flame detector. Honeywell, which dates from 1906 and is headquartered in Charlotte, USA, also makes SmartLine pressure transmitters and VersaFlow flowmeters for process plants.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier of Honeywell gas detectors, replacement sensors, transmitters and controller parts for sites in Oman and the GCC.

Honeywell product families on this page

Open path infrared detection is represented by the Searchline Excel and the newer Searchline Excel Plus. Point detection includes the Sensepoint XCD in flammable and toxic versions, for example the SPXCDALMG1 hydrogen detector, the Sensepoint XRL and the XNX universal transmitter. The FS24X Plus is a triple infrared flame detector. Replacement cells such as the SR-X2V oxygen sensor and the SR-W-MP75C MICROpeL combustible sensor are also listed. Process instruments include SmartLine STG700 and STG800 gauge pressure transmitters, the STR82D remote seal transmitter and the VersaFlow Coriolis mass flow meter. Recorder consumables such as chart pens are also sourced.

Where Honeywell detectors and transmitters are used

Gas and flame detectors guard wellheads, compressor stations, tank farms, loading bays, process units and utility buildings, and report to the fire and gas system. Open path units watch plant boundaries and long pipe racks. SmartLine transmitters and VersaFlow meters measure pressure and flow in refining, gas processing, chemicals and power.

Ordering Honeywell gas detection parts: what we need

Send the full part number from the label, such as SPXCDALMG1 or 02104-N-XSSA, and the serial number. For gas detectors state the target gas and measuring span, housing material, cable entry thread, output (4-20 mA, relays, Modbus) and the approval required. For replacement sensors name the detector model they go into. For SmartLine transmitters send the complete model selection string.
