Hauber Elektronik HE100 – Vibration Sensor
Overview
The Hauber Elektronik HE100 is a compact vibration transmitter that measures absolute bearing and casing vibration velocity (mm/s, v-rms) in accordance with DIN ISO 10816/20816. It works as a two-wire transmitter and delivers a 4–20 mA signal proportional to the measuring range, so it can be connected directly to an existing PLC or DCS analogue input without a dedicated monitoring rack.
HE100 is a series designation: the full type code selects the measuring range (for example 0–16 or 0–32 mm/s), frequency range, housing material, mounting thread and connection (M12 connector or integrated cable). Versions with Ex ib or Ex db / Ex tb protection are available for Zone 1/21, and cULus Division 2 versions for Zone 2/22 type installations.

Hauber HE100 Ordering Code and Options
The HE100 type code has seven groups in the form HE100.aa.bb.cc.dd.ee.fff. The first group after the series name sets the approval: 00 is the standard version for non-hazardous areas, 01 is the flameproof and dust-protected version (Ex db / Ex tb), 02 is the intrinsically safe version (Ex ib), and 03 is the UL hazardous-location Division 2 version.
The next group is the measuring range in mm/s rms: 8, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 50, 64, 128, 256 or 512. The 16 mm/s range is the standard. The frequency group is 00 for 10-1000 Hz (standard) or 01 for 1-1000 Hz; these are the two ranges listed in the current HE100 operating instructions.
Housing material follows: 00 for stainless steel 1.4305, 01 for 1.4404 and 02 for duplex 1.4462. The fixing group is 00 for an M8 stud, 01 for an SPM cone and 02 for an M8 internal thread. The last three digits give the connection: 000 for an M12 connector, or 020, 050 and 100 for a 2 m, 5 m or 10 m integrated cable.
Hauber HE100 Installation and Wiring Notes
The sensor works on two wires only: pin 1 (brown) carries the 10-30 V DC supply and pin 3 (blue) the 4-20 mA signal. Pins 2 and 4 must be left unconnected to avoid capacitive interference. The mounting surface must be flat and free of paint and rust, and the sensor is tightened to 8 Nm with a 24 mm spanner. The housing must be earthed through the fixing or a separate PE conductor. The Ex ib version uses a 5-pin M12 connector in which pin 5 ties the cable shield to the housing; it must be used with a certified isolating amplifier. The Ex d version always has an integrated cable. The sensor is maintenance-free.

Hauber sensors are built to an order code. Send the full type code and serial number from the label. If that is not possible, tell us the measuring range, the output signal, the frequency range, the connection type, the mounting thread and whether a hazardous-area version is required. We handle inquiries from across the GCC and check each code against the manufacturer documentation.Browse Hauber Elektronik products by category: Vibration.
