Applications and selection notes
A control cabinet in a hot or dusty site can be watched without opening it: the module logs enclosure temperature and humidity and, with the external probe, detects a door opening or an object at a distance (the datasheet lists a measuring range of 45 to 1200 mm for the proximity function). It runs a Debian operating system on a 32-bit ARM processor with 4 GB eMMC, which allows edge processing. Accuracy is plus or minus 2 C and plus or minus 5 percent relative humidity in the stated range.
Installation hint: snap the module on to the DIN rail, connect the supply through the terminals, and place the external probe where it can sense the door or air flow you care about. Make sure the network settings match the site before starting.
Type code, ident number and checks
IM18 is the 18 mm wide DIN-rail housing; CCM40 identifies the cabinet guard variant described in the datasheet, and /24VDC the supply version. Ident number 100018257 identifies this exact device.
A short checklist before you order: the supply voltage, the sensors and interfaces you need (temperature, the DIN-rail space and the software or integration support, the network protocol, proximity), and humidity. Specifications here are restated from the official datasheet and should be matched against the current maker revision.
For commissioning, remember that the cabinet guard is a small computer as well as a sensor: it needs a valid network address, a defined data destination and a plan for software updates. The datasheet gives a weight of 201 g, plastic polycarbonate/ABS housing, removable spring-type 3-pin terminals for 2.5 mm2 wire and an ambient range of 0 to +70 C, so the module itself must not be mounted in a hotter zone of the cabinet. Alarm thresholds for temperature and humidity should be agreed with the maintenance team before the data is used for alarms.

About brand
Turck is the German automation company for sensors, connectivity, fieldbus I/O and interface technology. It grew from Hans Turck's engineering office in Mülheim an der Ruhr: in 1965 a chemical plant ordered an isolation amplifier for intrinsically safe circuits, and the first 20 units were built by his brother Werner Turck in Halver. The family-owned Turck group is still headquartered in Mülheim an der Ruhr, with production in Halver and other sites.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Turck sensors and I/O devices for machine builders and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones
- 1965: An order from a German chemical plant for an amplifier module starts the business; Werner Turck builds the first 20 units.
- 1970: Hans Turck KG and Werner Turck KG are registered as separate companies.
- 1975: Hans Turck KG opens its building in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
- 1994: Turck Holding combines the two Turck companies under one roof.
Turck product series
Most of the Turck products here are inductive proximity sensors: threaded M12, M18 and M30 barrels in flush (BI) and non-flush (NI) versions, uprated-range (U) sensors, rectangular CP40 and CP80 housings and BIM magnetic-field sensors for detecting pistons in pneumatic cylinders. The type code describes the sensor; in BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141, BI means flush mounting, 5 is the switching distance in mm, AP6X a three-wire PNP output and H1141 the M12 connector.
Turck also makes RU ultrasonic sensors, PS pressure, TS temperature and LS level sensors, FCI inline flow sensors, the CMVT vibration and temperature sensor for condition monitoring over IO-Link, and fieldbus and Ethernet I/O modules and communication components.
Where Turck sensors are used
Position detection on conveyors, packaging machines, presses and robotic cells; level, pressure and temperature monitoring on hydraulic units and process skids; and vibration monitoring on motors, pumps and fans.
