The three voltages on a medium-voltage capacitor nameplate describe its insulation level. 17.5 kV is the highest system voltage, 38 kV is the power-frequency withstand voltage, and 95 kV is the lightning impulse withstand voltage (BIL). A replacement must match the capacitance, the rated voltage and the insulation level, and it must fit the same mounting and terminals.

02Can a capacitor with a slightly different value replace the original ICAR part?
