Turck

Turck sensor type codes look cryptic, yet each block of letters and digits describes the part. Founded in 1965 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany, the company makes sensors, connectors, I/O and interface devices for factory and process automation. Seven Star LLC lists the Turck BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141 inductive proximity sensor and the CMVT-QR20 vibration and temperature sensor, and supplies Turck sensors in Oman and the GCC.

Turck sensors listed here

In BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141, BI is a flush-mountable inductive sensor, 5 is the rated switching distance in millimeters and M18 is the threaded barrel. AP6X is a three-wire DC output, PNP normally open, and H1141 is the M12 connector. The CMVT-QR20 is a small rectangular sensor that measures vibration on three axes together with temperature and reports both over IO-Link for condition monitoring.

Ordering Turck sensors: what we need

Send the full type code and the ID number printed on the sensor or its bag label. If the label is lost, give the housing size, flush or non-flush mounting, output type, supply voltage and connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I read a Turck inductive sensor type code such as BI5-M18-AP6X-H1141?
Read it in blocks. BI means inductive, flush mountable; 5 is the rated switching distance in mm; M18 is the barrel thread. AP6X is a PNP normally open three-wire DC output, and H1141 is an M12 plug connector. Change any block and you have a different sensor, so quote the code in full.
What is the difference between Turck BI and NI sensors?
BI sensors can be mounted flush in metal. NI sensors must be mounted non-flush, with free space around the sensing face, and in return they reach a longer switching distance for the same barrel size. The two are not interchangeable on a machine without checking the mounting bracket and the target distance. Tell us which prefix is on the old sensor.
What do I need to connect a Turck CMVT-QR20 vibration and temperature sensor?
Turck lists the CMVT-QR20 with an IO-Link interface, so it needs an IO-Link master port for the measured values; in standard I/O mode it gives switching outputs only. It is made with an M12 plug or with a short cable and plug, and the full type code shows which. Send us the full code and we confirm the matching cable.
Where can I buy Turck sensors in Oman, and is Seven Star LLC a Turck distributor?
Seven Star LLC, based in Muscat, sources and supplies Turck sensors as an independent industrial supplier. We are not a distributor or agent of Turck. Send the type code and ID number; we check them against the manufacturer's documentation, propose the manufacturer's successor if the type is discontinued, and provide the datasheet with the order on request.
