Wolf Safety Wolflite XT-70 Rechargeable LED Handlamp

Description

Rechargeable ATEX handlamp with switchable spot and flood beams

The Wolf Safety Wolflite XT-70 is a rechargeable LED safety handlamp for inspection and maintenance work in potentially explosive atmospheres. Wolf certifies the Wolflite XT range under ATEX, IECEx and UKEX for gas Zones 1 and 2 and dust Zones 21 and 22, and describes the lamp as intended for harsh environments where robustness and long run time matter.

The XT-70 carries two white high-power LEDs rated at 430 lumens and gives the user a choice of a narrow spot beam with a low-power fringe, or a wider flood beam. A built-in stand lets the lamp be set down and aimed hands-free, which is useful when both hands are needed on a valve, flange or instrument.

Wolflite XT family and sibling models

The datasheet covers four references on one platform. They differ in light source, beam options, battery duration and, for the XT-75, the protection concept and zone rating.

Model Beam Light source Battery part no. Duration Recharge
Model Beam Light source Battery part no. Duration (full / powersave) Recharge
XT-50 Spot 1 x white XT-202 Up to 4.0 h / 8.0 h 2.0 h
XT-70 Spot / flood 2 x white XT-204 Up to 7.5 h / 15.0 h 3.5 h
XT-90 Spot / flood / signal 2 x white, 2 x coloured XT-206 Up to 11.0 h / 22.0 h 4.5 h
XT-75 Spot / flood 2 x white XT-204 Up to 7.5 h / 15.0 h 3.5 h

The XT-75 is the Zone 0 version: it uses “ia” intrinsic safety and is listed for Zones 0, 1 and 2, gas groups IIA, IIB and IIC. The XT-50, XT-70 and XT-90 use “ib” and are listed for Zones 1 and 2. All four share the 430 lm white LED output, IP67 rating and 1.2 kg weight.

Beam performance, runtime and selection

Wolf quotes the spot beam at roughly 3.5 degrees with a low-power fringe beam of about 50 degrees. In high-power mode the peak intensity is 13,130 lux at 1 m and 620 lux at 5 m; in powersave mode it is 8,050 lux at 1 m and 370 lux at 5 m. The flood beam is about 30 degrees, with 260 lux at 1 m and 14 lux at 5 m at high power.

The lamp has an emergency illumination mode that switches it on if the charger loses mains power, and Wolf describes it as suitable for cyclic use and for short- and long-term standby, which is the main reason to choose the XT over a primary-cell lamp for permanent charging stations.

Confirm that the zone, gas group and temperature class of the plant match the certificate marking before issuing the lamp, and keep the certificate documents with the equipment file. Choose the XT-70 where both beams are useful, the XT-50 for a lighter single-beam task lamp, the XT-90 where a coloured signal beam is needed, and the XT-75 only where Zone 0 access is genuinely required.

Select the charger for the supply available: XT-200L for 12 to 24 Vdc vehicle or low-voltage supplies and XT-200H for 90 to 254 Vac mains. Charge only in a safe area unless the charger itself is certified for the location, and follow the manufacturer instruction manual for battery care and lens inspection.

Documents and quotation

The attached document is the Wolf Safety Wolflite XT rechargeable LED handlamp datasheet (version SL024 DF528, issue 16), which covers all four XT references. The certificates and instruction manual are published separately by the manufacturer.

About brand

Wolf Safety is a Sheffield manufacturer of ATEX and IECEx certified lighting for hazardous areas, with a history that starts with mining safety lamps in 1912. Its portable, temporary, installed and area luminaires are used by maintenance, inspection and shutdown teams working where flammable gas, vapour or dust may be present.

Hazardous-area lighting ranges

The Wolf Safety catalogue covers rechargeable handlamps and torches, headtorches, linkable temporary floodlights and luminaires, tank lighting kits, installed linear, floodlight, highbay and bulkhead luminaires, and towerlite area lights. Supporting products include ATEX transformers, splitter boxes, cable reels, extension cables and ventilation fans.

Certification and application

Wolf Safety publishes ATEX, IECEx and UKEX certificates alongside its datasheets, so buyers can check the zone, gas group and temperature class before a lamp is issued to a work crew. Typical uses include tank and vessel entry, plant turnarounds, refinery and offshore inspection rounds, and emergency lighting where a hazardous atmosphere is possible.

Sourcing through Seven Star LLC

Seven Star LLC supplies Wolf Safety lighting to customers in Oman and the GCC and can quote against the datasheet model, voltage and zone requirements of each project.
