Rittal VX25 Ri4Power 185 mm Busbar System

A compact busbar system for central power distribution

The Rittal VX25 Ri4Power 185 mm is a busbar and enclosure solution for compact, central power distribution in the VX25 baying enclosure system. Its 185 mm bar centre distance is matched to the VX25 enclosure widths, so the full enclosure width remains usable for equipment. Rittal rates it for rated voltages up to 690 V, rated currents up to 2100 A and short-circuit withstand up to 50 kA.

It is aimed at distribution assemblies where the larger Ri4Power system is not needed. Installation of equipment is stated to comply with IEC 61439 and is documented with a design verification that the Rittal Power Engineering software generates after planning.

How the system goes together

Assembly is described in three steps: position the system attachment in the enclosure, secure the busbar assembly, and clip the cover system in place. The busbar contact system is no-drill and lock-home, and air can still circulate between the standardised earthing elements, which Rittal says limits temperature rise and permits higher loads. Cover plate sets are available for each enclosure width, and busbar baying is integrated into the contact protection.

Fuse and switching components

NH slimline switch-disconnectors for sizes 00 to 3 switch with fuses through an integral quick-break contact with double break, so all poles are dead when a fuse is replaced. The lid lock can only be released with a tool and a switch position display is built in. NH slimline fuse-switch disconnectors, also sizes 00 to 3, come as single-pole or 3-pole switchable variants with symmetrical cable outlet at top and bottom, with or without fuse monitoring. Bars are arranged vertically, which reduces mutual heating and removes the need for a separate cable space at the side.
