REHM TIGER digital 230 AC/DC Portable TIG Welding Machine

Description

A light 230 A TIG inverter for site and workshop

The REHM TIGER digital 230 is a single-phase portable TIG inverter available as a DC machine and as an AC/DC machine, in a full-featured ULTRA version and a simplified HIGH version. REHM positions the gas-cooled unit, at 7.5 kg for DC and 7.9 kg for AC/DC, as the lightest TIG machine in its class, and it is built for installation, maintenance and pipework where the machine is carried to the job. The photo on this page shows the variant with a water cooling unit.

The housing is designed so that the electronics survive a drop of up to 90 cm, according to REHM, and the electronics space is separated from the cooling air so grinding dust is channelled past it. Operation uses the SIRIUS display with a rotary encoder, four QUICK CHOICE buttons for stored tasks and an Assist function that suggests settings from the base material and weld shape. The 230 A machine also runs stick (MMA) electrodes with a booster function.

Item numbers and the ULTRA / HIGH choice

Version DC item no. AC/DC item no.
230 HIGH digital 1503555 1503565
230 ULTRA digital 1503556 1503566

ULTRA offers HYPER.PULS with adjustable frequency, DualWave, interval welding, program memory and every parameter adjustable. HIGH, described by REHM as optimised for pipeline and assembly work, keeps fixed gas pre-flow, ignition and start values and omits HYPER.PULS and DualWave. Both include 2 and 4 cycle with or without HF, spot welding, AC balance and frequency and the stick function. REHM lists a set with a TIG torch, earth cable, pressure reducer and case as item 1485440, sold with a machine.

What to confirm before ordering

Decide between DC only and AC/DC (aluminium needs AC), and between ULTRA and HIGH. Confirm that a 230 V, 16 A supply is available, whether gas or water cooling is wanted, and the torch and accessory set. Because the 100 % duty current is 160 A, heavy continuous TIG work may call for a larger source.

Documents and quotation

The REHM TIGER digital brochure is on this page. Other TIG machines are listed under TIG Welding Machines, for example the Telwin Technology TIG 230 DC.

To request a quotation send the version and item number, cooling choice, supply voltage and the materials and thicknesses you weld.

About brand

REHM is a German manufacturer of MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA welding machines and plasma cutting systems. The company, REHM GmbH u. Co. KG Schweißtechnik, is based in Uhingen and states that its equipment is developed and produced in Germany. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, lists these machines for fabricators, workshops and maintenance teams that want robust inverter equipment backed by clear technical data.

Product lines and technology

The range includes the SYNERGIC.ARC heavy-duty MIG/MAG machines, the MEGA.ARC and FOCUS.ARC pulse systems, TIGER digital portable TIG inverters, BOOSTER stick (MMA) inverters and BARRACUDA plasma cutters. The machines use the SIRIUS graphic operating system, and the TIG line adds the HYPER.PULS, HYPER.SPOT and DUAL.WAVE processes. The manufacturer also supplies welding accessories, training and service.

Ordering: what we need

Give the process (MIG/MAG, TIG, MMA or plasma), the current range and duty cycle, the mains supply, whether water-cooled torches are used, and the item number from the REHM brochure if you have it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the TIG current range of the 230 machine?
4 to 230 A, with 160 A at 100 % duty and 35 % duty at maximum current.
How much does it weigh?
The gas-cooled machine weighs 7.5 kg in DC and 7.9 kg in AC/DC.
What is the difference between HIGH and ULTRA?
ULTRA adds HYPER.PULS, DualWave, interval welding and program memory, while HIGH fixes several start and end parameters.
Can it weld stick electrodes?
Yes. It offers electrode welding up to 180 A in booster mode, with a safety hold function.
What supply does it need?
